FIVE NERAZZURRI CALLED UP TO ITALY SQUAD

MILAN - Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni has included five Inter players in his squad for the upcoming European Championship in Portugal (from 12 June to 4 July).

The Azzurri will convene at Coverciano Sports Centre in Tuscany next Monday for the start of pre-tournament training, then will play a friendly match away to Tunisia before leaving for Portuguese capital Lisbon.

Italy squad:

Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Francesco Toldo (Inter), Angelo Peruzzi (Lazio)

Defenders: Cristian Panucci (Roma), Alessandro Nesta (AC Milan), Fabio Cannavaro (Inter), Gianluca Zambrotta (Juventus), Massimo Oddo (Lazio), Matteo Ferrari ( Parma ), Marco Materazzi (Inter), Giuseppe Favalli (Lazio)

Midfielders: Stefano Fiore (Lazio), Simone Perrotta (ChievoVerona), Cristiano Zanetti (Inter), Mauro German Camoranesi (Juventus), Gennaro Gattuso (AC Milan), Andrea Pirlo (AC Milan)

Strikers: Christian Vieri (Inter), Francesco Totti (Roma), Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus), Bernardo Corradi (Lazio), Antonio Cassano (Roma), Marco Di Vaio (Juventus)

Angelo Peruzzi as 3rd choice keeper? del Piero who hasnt done anything for Italy and hasnt been in great form for Juventus?

Great squad they have there, I think the Italians will win it.

HOw is it that Christian Vieri plays for Italy, yet his brother Max qualifies for Australia?

Max was born in Australia, Christian was born in Italy, Max probably thinks he's more chance of playing international football with Australia then he is with Italy

I had thought Christian was born here as well, which is why I asked. Ahh well, I'll happily accept Max as an aussie!

Who do you think will win it Ando, if not the Italians?

As much as i would like to see England win it :roll: they have more chance at winning lotto at the present time :lol:

I think the French will be very hard to beat,i reckon not only do they have a top line up of talent,they will also try to make up for the last couple of tournaments where they have under acheived badly ;-) 8)
