If they can stop giving away the silly penalties, get back to the basics of getting throufg a set of tackles and get Vagana, Meritt, Lomu and Rieck on the field they'll go alright.

Funny thing about football you need it to score, they had stuff all of it Saturday night because of ill discipline. This puts them on the back foot, which in turn leads to frustration and more silly penalties.

They went well against the Dogs, showed a glimpse of what they were capable of against Manly.

What they do need though is for their supporters to support them !

Fair enough. It is hard not to be critical when they play so poorly though. I will never stop supporting them and we can turn it around to beat the Cowboys and I am tipping we will do just that.

I just had to check the date of this topic. Thought I was reading something from this time last year! ;-)

You're right though. The stupid little things are costing them. They are easy to fix in principle, but are the players willing to change or learn?

I say it's time the club got VERY heavy handed in penalising the guys for illdiscipline.
If you give away a penalty you cop a $100 fine. If it's a penalty which you concede regularly each week, the fine is $250. Same penalty twice in one game $1,000
Sin Bin, $2,500
Sent off, $5,000
Handling errors $100 each

Some of those might seem a tad steep, but let's remember the ludicrous amounts these fools are being paid to behave like "professional" sportsmen. The club's keeping up their end of the bargain by paying them. If the players don't keep up their end, then reduce their pay. Simple.

I recall a time not so long ago reading the headline "Squeaky Clean Sharks", in reference to them being the least penalised team over the previous couple of seasons.
At that stage they were a team of youngster, inexperienced, and probably playing above their weight. But by minimising the errors and giving away possession through stupid penalties they deprived the opposition of ball, and won more than they lost.

Let's get real about this Rapes/Sludge

I agree DJDL.

You cant win a game of football if you do not have the ball. The first thing we have to concerntrate on is our discipline since that the reason we do not have the ball. If fining players is the way to fix it i am all for it.

As we get our injured players back week by week everything should hopefully flow from there.

Usually when someone takes a decent dump the smell hangs around for a while. Well I think the smell from the big dump Chris Anderson took on the club is still hanging around.

I'm sure it won't be long before Raper pops down to the shop, buys some air freshener, get's rid of the stink and the boys get back on track.
