Rookie of the Year although expected he is only the third player to be a unanimous choice behind David Robinson and Ralph Sampson. What a great start to his career.

Yeah no surprise he won the award, the unanimous nature of it does show how dominant he has been over the rookie field. Surprised that John Wall didn't pick up a vote or two.

The two big examples I can think of:

- Mourning grabbing 2 votes from Shaq in 93. Shaq was instantly dominant on a horrible Magic team whereas Mourning certainly had an impact but joined a much stronger Charlotte team that had the 92 ROY in LJ. I can kinda live with that but not

- Keith Van Horn stealing 3 votes from Duncan in 98. At no stage of their careers has KVH been half the player Duncan is and shouldn't have been anywhere near a first place vote. New York media at its finest.
