ITS TIME TO GO ...PHIL BAILEY!!!!!

I think Bailey needs a stimnt in Premier league. he is no great attacking weapon, his defense is average and he is good for giving the opposition penalites every week, and include his greedy decisions to hold onto the ball when unmarked teamates could score. Its time to piss him off!

phil baily is a good solid player. and he deserves to still be where he is. and in that bombed try i beleive he was trying to pass.

I'd like to see him aim up in the middle with the ball. He can pop a pass and I think he could create a f**k load of room for a Merrit, Rieck, Vagana etc following him.

have you been watching the same games that i have been watching? you know the ones where baiey stands up to be counted. with solid tackles and attempts a hard run at the defense. Watch the game against parramatta and tell me thats not a a man who knows how to tackle.

All was needed was chain passing and cronulla were in to score, But Phil thought otherwise he does it all the time...

Bailey had a shocker then, Warren.. You have to take that on the chin. In the context of the game it was an important error, although I'm not suggesting he lost the game.

I'd like to see some decoy plays involving Bailey though.. some second man balls to give the centres some space. It's a little repetitive and quite risky to have him always taking the collision first and then looking to offload.

Relegate Bailey to the interchange bench and allow him to gain new fame as an "impact" player. There's a challenge for Stuart Raper.

I agree with gregos here. I wanted him to throw that pass earlier like everyone else at the ground, but he didnt. But im not going to hang him on that, he is a player who tried his guts out with each hit up and in defence all day long and a player who genuinely hates losing and has a dig.

I think bailey has been misdirected and mic-coached over the past 2 seasons and I would like to see him get back to standing tall, hitting the line and then looking to offload. He is leaning into the defence too early and getting wrapped up too soon.

I agree 100%! Phil's ego seems to have taken over after he threw on that green and gold jumper Ando got him last year.

Perhaps a stint in PL would help bring back the player he was when he originally came into first grade and make him realise that he is not above everyone else.

As for that try he bombed today, that was absolutely shocking. He only tried to pass when he realised he'd stuffed the whole thing! I was right in front of it.

Its such a shame that 17 guys can bust their gut for 70 minutes to have one of the comp's heavy-weights "on the ropes", only to have one persons selfishness ruin the whole thing, turn the whole tempo of the game and allow the opposition back into it.

it was a mistake for sure but you can't hang th ewhole loss over 80 minutes on that one incident. bailey is still a quality player and gives awhole-hearted effort every game

 Made a mistake and gave a silly penalty or two away but he seemed pretty solid as always to me, think you might have to look at some of the players around him that are letting you down!

The team as a whole missed 43 tackles.........

and yet we blame bails for not passing for us losing the game ?

sounds like SCAPEGOATING to me.

sick joke isn't it beeker ... Bailey is one of our better players works his arse off week in week out, sure he may not be the greatest visionary in attack, but he still puts in more effort than our 1,2 ,3 and 4 combined.

good post fin077

and i'd be interested to know why people dont rate mcgoldrick
i used to dislike the bloke
then he went to PL and came back a whole new player

he goes better out wide than bailey, who shouldnt be there, thats for sure

I think Bailey's problem is that he's scouting too wide. Use him up the middle as this "tackle-busting 2nd-rower" that we're after and get a ball-player like Hilder in as lock to work with the centres.

McGoldrick couldn't find the try line with a GPS ..... at least when bailey was playing centre for us he was scoring trys.

Bailey is also a lot better defensively.

And Bailey couldn't find support with a GPS....Seriously, the guy could become a damm good 2nd-rower if we gave him the chance to play up the middle more.

Our problem is our centres just aren't working - what's ET doing these days?

There is talk that a very honest ex sharkie may return to the club for one last hurrah next year, wide running second rower, big...nah, huge thighs......

I think it would be a bloody good move, some experience and passion into the backrow to join ice, bickers and bails.
