I think, in a moment of brilliance, i have worked out why we are having a s#$%& year. This is the theory.

Brian worked out that there were 2 possible solutions to parra's disappointing season last year.

1. Buy bulkier players

or if that fails,

2. Finish Last this year so as to emulate Penriths feat from last year.

Seeing as though theory number 1 did not work out, he may be now trying out theory number 2.

So you see, we must finish last this year, so as to win it next year.

In all seriousness guys, forget the rest of this year, and look forward to another season next year, that promises so much more.

:D :D :D :D :D

And wasn't 2004 a more promising-looking year than 2003?

And wasn't 2003 a more promisng-looking year than 2002?

And wasn't 2002 a more promising-looking year than 2001?

He's being positive and should be commended for it, i know it's hard times but you should try and do the same.

What reason is there to be positive?

We are 1 point from the spoon, and, as far as I'm concerned, it's as good as ours.

We will NOT beat the Warriors.

We will NOT beat the Sharks, the Chooks or Penrith.

That's why newmanj specifically said look forward to NEXT YEAR. We're screwed for the rest of the season, i'll agree with you there.

Really guys and gals, it really is disappointing what has happened this year. However, for example, in 2 weeks my third child, a girl will be born. Nothing that happens to my beloved football team will change this into anything but a special year.

Sort of helps me put things into perspective.

Effectively we will have to finish last then 12th next year if we are to follow Penriths rise to the top!

Congrats Newmanj. Hopefully your girl will see a brighter Parra club in her later formative years.

good luck with the birth Jason, and i agree, this would certainly put all things into perspective. Perhaps, we can celebrate your baby girl in two weeks with a win at Shark Park!!! :D

Congratulations on your child, newmanj.

I am truly happy for you and your family.

But from a football perspective, positivity does not change the facts:

* We suck

* We're 1 point from the spoon

* Next year, we will have a stellar forward pack with soem excellent backs

HOWEVER:

* Next year we'll also have BS at the helm

* We STILL don't have a recognised, game-breaking halfback

I am not negative at all (in terms of life in general; except maybe studying, which is a jip; you study half your life in order to get the job you want [which is even better in my case 'cos I haven't got the faintest idea what I want to do]; you then have a couple of thousands' dollars debt to pay off; and then you work for the rest of your life; by the time you are able to enjoy the rewards of your working life, you're 65!),

but in terms of footy, in terms of the Parramatta footy team - 2004 is a write-off and I don't expect 2005 to be much different.

Yep, newmanj, you put it in perspective - good luck to yuou and your missus in the next month!

Being down about the team doesn't mean you are a pessemist, as most Smith lovers will have you believe. However, as this is a footy fowum, specifically about parra, the only people here who have a right to be jolly are opposition fans!

While Brian SMith is here, one cannot expect massive joy!
