What is everyone thinking at the moment? Brazil are deserved hotpots and will go close but I can see a number of teams getting the spoils this time around. Spain and Portugal are the big smokeys but @ 13/1, i couldn't refuse dropping a $50 on the Dutch! A quality team, back on the world stage and look like they'll go alright if Ruud gets over his Man United treatment

Any thoughts?

yeah mate the dutch do look good value mite have some of that myself, cant discount the germans at $8 doing well at home too, like the frenchies and sth korea of past world cups

I am putting a 50 on 5-6 teams to win their respective groups.
Some value there, especially with Argentina

Brasil will be up there ofcourse.

I did fancy the Italians at first to take the trophy, but they have Pirlo as their deep-lying play-maker, ffs
France...Zidane is as ineffective as Pirlo.
Poms...no chance if Peter Crouch leads the line.
Argies...nobody is talking about them, unlike four years ago, however I reckon Holland and Serbia will progress from their group.

I have therefore decided that only one team can possibly challenge Brasil.

Ukraine and Australia to reach quarter-finals.

No other team other than Holland, Brazil, Germany, Italy or Portugal (my roughie ... Scolari's last hurrah for them) can win it.

I wouldnt have had England there even with Rooney.

Those teams are the best teams atm imo ... but id love to see a new winner. So im going for a Holland or Portugal win ... neither has won before. Holland though, are much more bankable than Portugal, theyve actually got a realistic shot. But Italy are probably in the best form of all teams atm, and i'd NEVER write off Germany. Brazil are always brilliant ... but i sense they wont win this ... but hell not even me would back against them they are just too talented.

But $50 on each of these teams and i bet you win overall (except if Brazil win it, they'll be too short).

But i think Holland will win it ... they are by far the most talented team besides Brazil. Its their time !!

I've already backed the Dutch at 15/1. Was in a bet with Arsenal to win the Champions League at 15/1.

Will have a little bit more on. Also might have a couple of dollars on France.

And Sweden at 50's are a nice smokey.

Will be looking at a multi on the group winners too. Normally tip them ok.

They are one side I have always cheered on in the WC. Don't really know why. Was from 90 onwards I think. I remember the day when Bergkamp signed for Arsenal and I knew a bit about him cause I'd been following the Dutch side. Was stoked about the signing.

Always pull me replica Dutch Shirt out around WC time :lol:
