J. Kidd or M. Bibby?

Hey guys, Im in trade talks with someone in my league right now and they are offering me J. Kidd or M. Bibby for Finley. Im really desperate for more assists and Im willing to give up Finly but the hard part is choosing between Kidd or Bibby. Now I know that both players are only averaging about 5-6 apg but Kidd can easily start getting 8-9 apg now that Carter is in the team, although injuries and form may prevent him from doing this and may even affect his stats even more. On the other hand I can rely on Bibby to give me a solid 5 apg but thats probably the most he can offer. Im seriously stuck on which player to choose. Help anyone?

I'd go with Bibby right now, it depends if you're willing to wait for Kidd to finally get back in some sort of form. Then you've got to decide whether or not Kidd's going to sulk and demand a trade as we get near the trade deadline. I think Bibby is a safe bet, he's always solid in what he does and while Kidd might eventually start putting up 10/7/8 you've also got to look out for shooting percentage and turnovers. I think Bibby is a good idea, also, I don't know about your league but in mine I found Marco Jaric as a Free Agent, he's rated only just below Bibby so if you can get ahold of him for nothing that'd be a good deal aswell.

Kidd nearly had a triple double last night. I would keep an eye on him today, the Nets have the Magic in what should be a high scoring game.

I'd take Kidd personally. With Carter and Jefferson he'll find a lot of assists. Also, with their lack of a big man he'll rebound quite a bit. Bibby is nice, but I don't see his contribution growing this season.

It really depends on injuries and his own mental state. I mean personally I think Bibby is a more solid option, just because you know what you're going to get with him night in and night out. Kidd isn't going to average a triple double all season. He can have those games where he goes 20/12/10 but then he could back that up with 9/6/5 on 20% shooting. Too inconsistant for my own liking.

Of course Kidd won't average a triple double, LeBron is the only person vaguely capable of that and that'd be 5 or so years down the track. I expect Kidd to post some rather gaudy numbers at times with a free wheeling Nets offense.

Bibby wil not average many assists because of the style of Sacramentos offense. They run it through the low post, and generally have a lot of offensive handlers. Brad Miller and Webber are both excellent passers which draws away from Bibby's role as a conventional PG. And correct me if I'm wrong, but General Knight said he wanted more assists. Kidd will average 8+ assists from here given he plays 35+ minutes.

Bibby had 20 points, 8 assists, 2 steals and a block today... with only 2 turnovers. For the season he's averaging 17/4/6. Which he'll maintain basically all season, throw in the 1.5 steals and only 2 and a half turnovers and I reckon he's the "safest" choice. That being said, I'm still bitter I didn't do the Payton for Kidd deal when he was injured and demanding a trade :x

If you want just assists and you're willing to sacrifice points and shooting percentage then go for Kidd. However, I think one good (and easier) option is Brevin Knight... he's averaging 9.4apg over 23 games... and he would be alot easier to attain than Kidd.

Nah Brevin Knight has already been taken in my league. Although I decided to take Bibby over Kidd. I just felt that there were too many risks involved in taking Kidd. First of all I think his game is heavily dependant on his injuries and not only his, include Carter's health aswell. I think that if Carter gets injured Kidd's stats may not improve or even start to fall. So in the end I just went with Bibby who I know can give me a solid 5-6 asts per night. Anyway thanks for the help guys.
