According to Weilder's article in the Sun-Herald

Lyon's leave was due to his partner having a miscarriage. In the same piece Lyon's manager says that the more the media try and find him to harder he will make it to be found and the less likley it is he will come back but if people just leave him alone for him to get his mind, life, thoughts whatver way you want to put it back together then there is a good chance he'll return.

With the Media leaving him alone point- it's pretty much what everyone here has been saying.
I wish everyone in the media would it get through their thick skulls that sometimes people just wish to be left alone for a while. Unless they don't want him to come back then just keep it up stupid media people. :roll:

There have been some minor media rumblings that "Killer" MIGHT! be back in sydney within the next fortnight! these came from Peter Peters and Peter Frilingoose. But I stress to everyone not to take it as gospal and go about your business in supporting the team. But it is the first sign of light at the end of the tunnel

In a way I just think its a shame that this VERY personal issue has come to light and I dont think its gunna help Jamies decision in any way. I think, and this is only my opinion which aint worth much, that Jamie just cant take the constant media attention any more. Those that know Jamie, know that he is a very reserved kinda person and his personal life is exactly that, Personal! To have the heartache that he and Ellie have had to endure written up in the newspapers... Well I know I wouldnt be able to cope with that at a time like this.

now that the speculation is gone it's possible that the media will realise that it is a personal matter not just something like a fight with the coach and will stop writting about it each day.

I know it's a long shot but anything is possible.

Now that this issue of Jamie's is out in the open it could open up a media frenzy from Womens Magazine wanting to offer him exclusive rights to the story. It's been done before for eg: the McGraths, Warnes and Carey

I'm extremely dissapointed that Weidler took it upon himself to announce it to the world.You also have Hadley and Peters bitch about how Jamie [and Gasnier] should pull their heads in and come back to rugby league. As far as I'm concerned Mundine's lover, the Taxi driver and the "Mulluca" can get stuffed,

I agree with Nikki, why is it anyones business to know what Jamie and his partner is going through! It is such a hard time for them, and my heart goes out to them, I know how hard it is to get along with life, you just want to leave everything and you just cannot handle anything. All I can say is life gets better, somehow you find the life and energy to get along with life!

It was no ones business why he left! Journalists and people in general should of left the poor guy alone, and if he wants to leave, let him! It is his life!

I just hope Jamie does whatever makes him happy, as that is what he should do!

Just a point guys. Whilst it has only just come to light in the papers etc. it was fairly well known amongst those in the media (I new the story by Monday arvo) and most have tread carefully around how they have described his sudden departure. But nevertheless you are going to get the odd numbat in the media who thinks they have the scoop and publishes something like this. I think that Jamie is intelligent enough to know who his friends are and probably isn't paying too much attention to anyone else.
