Excuse my ignorance, but I just recieved word that the Bulldogs have signed

Jamie Small - age 23; front row; Balmain Tigers - 2006
Ben Roberts – age 19; five eighth/halfback; Wests Magpies - 2007

Is anyone nice enough to give me some information on these guys...

Small was going to go to the Panthers but they withdrew the offer about 1-2 weeks ago as he failed a fitness test on a special request (stupid idea because he was injured and they knew that before they said they would sign him), Small signed with Bulldogs on Tuesday

Regarding the playing style

Small is a tough workhorse prop who isn't the biggest bloke on the field but runs 100MPH with and without the ball in hand, only problem is he doesn't have the bets ankles going around which isn't good for props - Put it this way Wests Tigers fans have been trying to see him get a run for a few years now and he always for some reason gets overlooked by Sheens (always relayed it to his size which is BS IMO)

On Roberts Yappy would be able to give you more of a rundown but he appears to have been around for years now and the kid has talent, I have no doubts he has NRL all over him but at the end of the day with Benji and Prince infront of him he wouldn't find it easy to get a run with the Wests Tigers to be honest - he is a good pickup IMO

Thanks for that Mighty Tiger... I'm really keen to see these boys in action. If there are any more Premier League games, I'd love to get there and see them in action.

At least if Holdsworth doesn't pull his socks up, we've got Roberts :D

Balmain play Cougars in PL this Sunday at TS before the Wests Tigers ve Panthers game

Small passed a fitness test today and is expected to play to try and force the Tigers into the top 8 for the finals

Small is a good pick up. Hard man.

Roberts could be anything, but probably won't be. Has consistently disappointed me as 1/2 or 5/8. Can make some miracle plays, but they are spread out in between some utter rubbish. If he could be more consistent he'd be a good player, but I've been waiting a fair while to see it happen. For mine just doesn't have the vision and speed between the ears to play 7 or 6. Put him at lock or in the centres and you will probably be much happier. Not losing a moments sleep over losing him, but wish him all the best.
