Jason taumalolo weighing up options

Brent Tate‘s advice to Jason Taumalolo as he nears a call on his future is simple: “Make sure it’s the right one for you.”

The 18-year-old boom forward is just weeks away from making one of the most anticipated decisions in rugby league – whether to remain with the North Queensland Cowboys or chase a reportedly big-money offer at the Parramatta Eels.

With Taumalolo off-contract this year, the Cowboys are desperate to keep one of the NRL’s hottest prospects and are optimistic of securing him to a lengthy deal. But the Eels are chasing hard and with the bullocking back-rower’s brother Warner Taumalolo playing at the Eels, Parramatta have a more than handy lure.

A 191cm, 110kg wrecking ball, Taumalolo won the Players‘ Association’s NYC Player of the Year for 2011 and led the competition in both metres gained and most hit-ups before playing three NRL games late in the season. Despite wanting to leave the young gun to make his own decision on his future, Tate hoped he remained a Cowboy.

To their credit I think they actually do want sets of brothers at the club - they already had the better Mannah brother at the club when they signed the other one.

I actually say the eldest Falau recently and he is a shadow of himself, infact he looks more like a swimmer than a footballer...
