I don't discount the possibility that mismanagement could be Sullivan's problem, however, I don't know that there is enough info to draw that conclusion and say it is "clearly" a fact. No, I don't. If you've read my posts on the forum over time you'll note I give the club credit when credit's due, even when others do not. If you look at the evidence of Turbo's latest hamstring injury, you'll probably come to the conclusion it was Manly's doing most likely. Tom has not injured his hamstring for the last 18 months. The medical guy managing Turbo's hamstring has moved on to the dogs this pre season. With a new coaching staff at Manly, and a new medical staff, it's fair to assume they did not fully understand how to manage his hamstring issues. Whether they gave him too much workload, or had him doing things he shouldn't have been doing and wouldn't have been doing under the old medical staff's watch is unknown. But it is entirely likely they mismanaged turbo's hamstring, hence the injury. Remember, last season he did his shoulder, not his hamstring. His hamstring has been successfully managed for more than a year and half, and is it a coincidence that when new coaching and medical staff come in he re-injures his hamstring? I doubt it. Fair play to Manly though, because they have since acknowledged they don't know how to deal with the issue themselves and sent him to the US. So that's what I say about manly and turbo.
With Sullivan, of course it can be bad luck. But, I feel as though he has likely been mismanaged and overworked given his previous history of hamstrings. As a player so young, these injuries will hamper his career and potentially destroy it if it is not sorted out now. He needs to be managed correctly.
If Rufus Rex is right, that it is not the same leg that is the problem, I'm not willing to blame mismanagement. The view that his body is yet to get used to the rigours seems more likely to me.
If he gets on top of this issue, better before the season kicks off then later.
