Started the season okay, played a few handy games, but nowhere to be seen lately except for the cutters. Another fringe signing player that didn't aim up.

Dont think thats fair, I think his signing with Penrith has something to do with his recent ommission from the first grade squad (nobody here knows why he wasnt being selected).

Was a much better than expected player in 2012 (signed cheap), but I could take him or leave him ongoing, his value would have went up after a strong season, and assumably they have some plan in mind to replace Scott/Young/Latimore.

You've got gower and stockwell still playing for the cutters to.

Stockwell I think might be a future gun.

agree with this.. his mystery omission from the bench is strange - he deifinitely adds more value then plodder Ah Mau who still seems to be in Price's plans...
would have rather let plodder Ah Mau and Gower both leave and kept latimore.

Stockwell is gaining valuable senior experience and getting alot of minutes and has well and truely shone in the NSW Cup.

Gower has been great in the NSW Cup also but hasn't been given a decent go in first grade and he is a better player than latimore.

Shannon Wakeman also has better ability than Latimore same as Jarrod Thompson so losing him isn't the end of the world and can be easily replaced.

He was ok nothing special really.

I rate him Minh as being a damned good backup prop and bench player
Others have been mentioned here but have not yet shown Latimore's quality at NRL level.
If as I suspect he turns up trumps at the Panthers we should be asking Price WTF. I think that Price is the outstanding underperformer at the club currently.

It's like grabbing an NYC player and making him club captain or finding the asking the local paperboy to run the club......hang on?

Getting a bit emotional Cagey. Calm down. Latimore is a good prop for us but there's no doubt he's behind Weyman, Merrin and Hunt.. with Stockwell set to nip at his heels next year. He'd be paid according to that ranking. Why wouldn't he go and get starting prop's money elsewhere? Good luck to Lats - he's come here virtually washed up and the Dragons have re-started his career.

I guess I'm riding on the back of the Soward situation Godzy and any number of inexplicable decisions on Coach Price's part. I don't disagree with anything you've said however my angst rests in Price's decision not to play Latimore in the current team and this I guess brought about his decision to leave the club.

We've had a number of narrow losses, our attack is disjointed. Good players aren't connecting and combinations are almost non-existent. Defence is strong but that's built IMO on a culture of working for each other and I credit the Bennett legacy for that.

Price doesn't have any runs on the board Godzy and he's made some huge calls based on what has been, in retrospect, flawed judgement.
  • Switched Horny to the right which was a monumental failure
  • Played Vidot on the left which had been proven in Canberra to be fraught with danger
  • Is playing his third fullback for the season as a temporary situation because he's already stated that Beale is there for 2013 (where does that leave Vidot's confidence with Nighty coming back on the right?)
  • Now he drops Soward. So we can?
It isn't a good look mate and frankly it doesn't add up. You don't need to look too far to see administrators at all levels making ridiculous decisions. We all sit around thinking it must be okay because they are in positions of seniority. Usually I do too but I've seen enough from Price to make me lose faith in his judgment and I'm very disappointed.

Fair enough Cagey he's pretty good and has the potential to be better like at the start of the season he is capable of being that type of player or even better.

I reckon that it will be a tough game tonight, though some commentators are calling a 13+ win to our lads
I'll give credit where it's due if we win in extra time
5 from 5 and we'll finish #5

you've seen the light!!
the dropping of soward after being out injured and Fien having ONE decent game at 6 is purely ridiculous...
Hornby should have been dropped weeks ago but seems a protected species.
you also forgot the mention the flow on effect of a lot of Price's decisions for example swapping soward and hornby to opposite sides of the field has had a direct impact on the form of Cooper and Creagh as well. it basically broke our total left side...
you mentioned the destabilising effect Beale coming in would be having on Vidot... also what message does it send to Cummins??
losing Beau Scott is a disaster, compounded by the retirement of Young and yet we only seem to have enough salary cap to sign Frizzell who struggles to make the sharks 17 each week.

we still have a chance to make the finals but with 5 weeks to play its clearly not the time to be experimenting with your halves combination... its obvious soward is our best number 6... Price has clearly added nothing this season and broken the things that actually worked..

I agree with all but the Beau Scott part Red including "seeing the light" though I'd more likely call it "a bridge too far". Scott may have cost more than we could afford and frankly more than he's worth. His form has been inconsistent this year. He's certainly a good player but may have wanted overs so I don't hold the club responsible for the traditional post premiership player drain. Frizzel is struggling to make the Sharks pack but that is a talent laden back row that includes the Aussie captain and Jeremy Smith. Frizzel will be good IMO

Number 5 is alive. If we win 5 from 5 I reckon we can win 9 from 9 to sweep the whole thing.
