The Eels match was very much like the Knights game with the Tigers down 12 nil in the first 10 minutes. The Tigers did well without Wara or Caldwell who appeared to me be rested from the match?
Alberts, Nash, Kmet, Pangai and Grant had big games for the Tigers and a welcome return in the last 10 minutes of the match by the goalkicking centre whose name eludes me, will certainly boost the Tigers chances in the run up to the finals.
There were a few fiery moments in the match culminating in Eels forward Brendan Oake being placed on report. This was to be expected in what was a clash between two top five team. I thought he was lucky not to have been sent off in performing a late tackle on one of our players.
Alberts again demonstrated his pace and Im please to write that the Eels were shocked when only a few yards from the Balmain try line he ran across field and around the Eels winger and centre before being tackled by the full back just over halfway. The Tigers had too much pace and attacking flair for the Eels and this was reflected in a comment yelled by Jamie Grant to his teammates the Eels have nothing when the side was down 28 -22 with 7 minutes to go.
The side have mixed well and there is a self belief that is reflected in their performances.
