Norths Jersey Flegg beat Western Suburbs 24-6. Last week they beat Asquith Jim Beam Cup.

Norths Premier League lost to the Dragons 30-6 yesterday.

Mar 4 - Premier league defeated the Canberra Raiders 42-26 today, however Jersey Flegg went down 38-24.

Premier League were able to put in a solid display against the Raiders, leading 28-12 at half time before finishing the game on top. Premier League Manager, John Killen said that the teams best players were Tim Grant, Bryan Norrie and Michael Jennings. Jennings outstanding performance comes after spending most of the pre-season in recovery after an ankle injury.

Tries: Liam Georgetown, Michael Jennings, Geoff Daniela, Bryan Norrie, Tim Grant, Maurice Blair (2), Craig Trindall. Trindal also kicked 5 goals.

Jersey Flegg got off to a slow start allowing the Raiders to have around 70% of possesion in the first half. Coach Alex Melville commeted that whilst he had a few problems, the team fought well to get back into the game in the second half. "From there, there was a lot of positives to come out of the game for us", he said.


Jennings wasn't actually named to play Premier League this week. Just a late inclusion to try and push for a first grade spot for round 1, and he is looking good for it also. Good to see young Tim Grant also performing well.
