Oborn was great. Runs the ball hard and stings in defence. I'll say it now he has First Grade witten all over him   , Good buy for the club. I had some Newcastle supporters next to me who asked me who he was they were very impressed with his game.

How was his fitness? Shouldn't be too bad because he's been playing regularly with Ourimbah.

Will we see him in firsts this year?

Booyah I got the impression he was fitter than some of the other guys in the side. If he keeps playing like he did tonight we just might see him on the bench before the end of the year. He reminded me of a young Beattie but faster :D

He is a prop yes. In RLW this week his coach reckoned he was the best prop playing outside the NRL.

It also revealed that he'd previously tried out with Manly and the Roosters, but couldn't hack it and went home.

His call up to where, Hulka?

Playing against the ACS boys in Silverwater?

I respect everyone's opinions on Oborn, but I'll be reserving my judgement for a while yet for a number of reasons.

Those to do with his league: I continually heard the boys shouting at him to work harder in defence. I thought his fitness seemed extremely low in comparison with Newtown in particular. I agree he pulled off some stingers, but your Craig Wing's et al would lick their lips seeing him run back to the defensive line.

Perhaps it's a little early for me to be harsh on him. If he sticks around for enough games though, he could improve some of those areas.
