Jets Sports Club - Suggested Renovations

I know it is expensive to do and we cannot afford it. But this is for general interest. What would you do to change our liscenced club? I don't think it is a bad little club. It has potential and certainly does get going when the badge draw is big. But it isn't a 7 day a week packed joint.

My suggestions are

1) Coat of paint. That yellow is ugly

2) Get rid of the TAB. It is a waste of space for such a great room. Relocate TAB facilities to the corner where the pokies are or the corner near the entrance. Perhaps use that space for the Bistro or for the pool table and pokies.

3) Open up where the offices are to make a decent entrance visible from Holbeach Ave. This would be more inviting to passers by.

4) Make a decent outdoors area (I think that's what they're doing with the AGM).

Any other ideas put them up. Let's get some chat going.

Hey ! I know, Jeffles - let's use that T.A.B. space for a shrine to your mentor (who shall not be named for obvious reasons).

We could call it the "Temple Of Negativity" or some such thing.

The yellow paint is relatively new. It surely wasn't my choice, though - after all, we're not the "Yellowbags", are we?

I'd vote for some dough/time to be put into flying a pair of the p.a. speakers from the ceiling struts in front of the stage.

The cabling's more expensive than you'd think (any Bluebag cabling pros here on this forum want to donate a couple hours of their time?), but would streamline the front part of the room dramatically.

I love you too HPH, but I think we should see other people. Will this never end for me?

At least the second suggestion was good DT-1.

I love to put a Keno on whilst I'm having a couple of cold one's.

I do realise it costs to set this up, however with the increase in residential premises in the near visinity this would be good.

Iv'e heard there was a decision between Keno or the TAB and both return a small dividend to the club, and rely on quantity to even come close to a profit. ( About 10 cents per bet isn't it ).

However as stated I love to put a keno on at a club. $50 on five numbers and $50.00 on seven numbers. It takes three hours to draw 50 numbers in which time copious amounts of alcohol are consumed.

People usually hang around until their game is finished in order to check their tickets.

Although I sometimes call in at the club for lunch ( for the soul purposes of supporting the club) , I go to another club when out for the night, due to there being no Keno available.

Yes I know it costs, but you did ask.

Build it and they will come.

Keno is on its way to the Jets Sports.

As you probably realise, it takes quite a while to get all the applications through Gaming & Racing, but it is currently in progress.

Thanks Dawson Twins, good to see you back mate.

Looking forward to a big season in 2004, and counting down the minutes till the Bluebags take the field.
