Just checked out the www.nswrl.com.au.

Thank god, the Bears beat Canberra 26 to 20.

Weekend of upsets with top three sides going down. Parra losing 18 to 12 to Illawarra. Jets to Souths, and Canberra to Norths.

Would'nt have picked it.

Roosters beat Wests 34 to 18 though. So we cant have everything.

But Jets are still in outright second place.

Adds weight to the opportunity missed by the boys though. If we had have beaten Souths we would have been equal first, with a four point buffer between Canberra and the Roosters.

Now we only have a 2 point buffer, with no room to move.

Excellent - this round will prove interesting. Newcastle will be no pushovers but at the same time Canberra can trouble the Eels. If the Jets and Raiders win we'll be back on track.

Carney's playing 1st grade this week with Withers moving to hooker to replace Woolford, so it may be a tougher option to beat the Eels.
