Jets watch

Newtown were back in the winners’ circle yesterday with a close win over a strong Rabbitohs team.

Seggy had a better game and scored a try off a dummy near the line.

Ferris again was very hard to wrap up. Ronaldo scored 2 tries.

Lumelume bombed a try which would have sealed the game. Is a bit of poor man’s Edrick Lee.

Lolo continues to be very strong at this level. Magoulias lacks size but is a real worker.

Question. If Lolo or someone in a similar position as himself is playing out of their skin and deserves a crack at the NRL. How does that player take the next step up if they aren't in any NRL top 30? Surely there are players that have had break out seasons and deserve to jump up to the next level before.

Probably get picked up by another club?

If he's good enough to be in Top 30 and we don't have space then we need to make space to fit him in I'd assume.

If he hasn't been put in the Top 30 yet then has the ship sailed ?

Good question and something I'm also not clear on.

AFAIK most clubs keep a couple of spots in their 30 going into the season (it doesn't have to be filled until June 30) and elevate players likely to play NRL as and when needed as we did with Ronaldo. I believe clubs can also apply for an injury exemption to use players outside the 30.

Jets Watch - Val is enjoying his time in New York and is training hard. He has stated that learning the play book is the hardest part of being an NFL player.

His helmets a bit tight as well but other than that happy with the uniform.

Jets moved into the top 8 with a 22-10 win yesterday over a Wenty side that had a few familiar faces in Mannah, French, Alvaro, Taikarangi etc.

Trindall comes in and out of the game a bit but he showed some flashes of being a really elusive player.

Mulitalo is a great prospect. Polselli had some good touches on the wing and Lolo and Joliffe continue to be really solid performers at this level.

Magoulias has turned into late career Nathan Hindmarsh. Makes a crazy amount of tackles but doesn't really feature in attack.

Attended the Warrior game the week before, unlucky or lucky to get away with the draw - Warriors had plenty of front liners, even bloody Blake Ashford - so they were up against it.

See sawing game really - up 10-0 to lose control and eventually get back to draw 22-22.
Good afternoon out as usual - one other thing - Katoa is balls - I doubt we would see him again in sharks colours - too hit and miss or hot and cold

Frenzy.

He seems to be falling down the pecking order. Mulitalo and Ferris have much more upside imo.

Don, You see the Jets more then anyone here, we have outside backs there Kennedy, Katoa, Ferris, Polselli,Lumelume & Mulitalo, from what i have seen Ferris & Mulitalo really look the goods, then next on list would be Polselli & Kennedy.

The halves are interesting Trindall could be anything, but Jack A Williams can you see him coming trhough.

In the forwards Joliffe seems to churn out metres each game and good minutes, Wilton is probably year away, Mr Magoo has not improved, and Cruz is on bench has he improved, Carr is another seaon away.

And the further plus is Sharks Flegg are looking good again, hopefully another handful of them can come through
