The finals picture now looks clearer with only 6 teams left in contention following Guildfords loss to the Bulls who now sit in 4th position and have the chance to steal third spot if they get a win and Woy Woy upset Souths at Redfern.
Another big game is that of Ryde-Eastwood v St Marys with the winner to progress to the finals!

Yeah true although Mono SOuths Juniors must win to play Wenty in the first week of the semis, which they should do.....

Jamie Forbes althouh listed for Enty is out for about 2 - 3 weeks broke his hand and needs an op, if he goes for the season we are the best chance of winning the comp...

We will beat Wenty in second week of semis last week had no changes left after half time finsihed with 12 men and tricky didnt play and they scored on the bell to make it 28 - 20 + we missed two conversions in front with our strongest team on the park we will win the right to play The Entrance the following week and i can finally give me old team mate Jimmy Davis a bashing, hahahahaha

Ryde Eastwood bowed out of the comp without a wimper, going down to the Cougars 42-24. The game was over after half an hour, when the Cougars built a 20-0 lead. The Hawks were completely devoid of imagination or thrust.

Over at Redfern, Woy Woy had the opportunity to go in at half time with a 12-10 lead but Elton Connors missed the penalty next to the posts.

Alan Emery's strategy of resting 3 starting forwards immediately after half time, backfired when Mick McBain was sent to the sin bin. In those 10 minutes, Souths scored 4 converted tries.

There wasnt much in the other 70 minutes but you got the feeling that Souths were coasting. Clearly they had much softer opposition than the previous week, but souths looked better with the inclusion of Trindall, Matua and Symonds.

Next week at Leichhardt, Wenty meet Souths in the major preliminary semi and Sydney Bulls meet Cougars in the elimination game.

Wenty's 50-28 win over Ourimbah yesterday featured the blooding of Zeb Taia and Le Te Maari from the u/19's. Wenty bypassed the vast experience in their reserve and 3rd grade teams as both are playing in the Parramatta Grand Finals today.

Guildford yesterday went down 4?-10 at EDSACC Oval in front of a approx. crowd of 500.
The Tigers got off to a good start scoring early and guildford replied soon after with a try to Buck on the wing. After that it was all Entrance as the pacey backs worked their magic with the help of Jamie Forbes at hooker.
The Tigers went into the break with a healthy lead and then a try fest soon after the break continued. Guildford registered another try in the second half to Matt Gillard but by then were well out of the match.
This was a dissapointing game for the Owls but they gave their all and were simply overwhelmed by a better footy side.
This game could well have been the last for the Owls in the Jim Beam Cup with the future currently uncertain and the upcoming application deadline looming.
No players have yet signed with other clubs in the hope Guildford will be able to put a side on the paddock next year but the future looks bleak as the Leagues Club support for Rugby League is no where as strong as it once was.
