Cabramatta leapfrogged Wenty with a 16-8 win at Ringrose tonight. After a slow start to the season Cabra have started to gain a bit of momentum. There is a definite Balmain flavour about the Cabra side. Current Tiger, Luke Branighan was in attendance to watch the team he left a few weeks ago. Cabra still includes Laloa Milford, Steve Jolly and Jason Thompson, all of whom have played 1st grade with the Tigers and Aaron Fluke, a Tigers Premier League player in 2003.

Cabra also have Robbie Payne, who has played 1st grade with Wests Tigers, current Parramatta Premier league back Steve Mowbray, David Djukich and Keith Heckenberg, who played P/L with Wests and Cronulla respectively last year and Willie Brown, who played in the Parra 1st division grand final team in 2001.

All of this just goes to prove that despite the Jim Beam restrictions, it is still possible to put a reasonable squad together provided you can find a few high calibre backup players that dont register highly on the points scale.

Cabra officials are confident that the club's directors will make the necessary funds available to ensure that Cabra are are in the top division of the State Cup, when the NSWRL competitions are restructured.

Well Well Payne played 1st grade in 1999 not 2000 which makes it Wests Magpies. I have my program for Round 1 when the Olympic Stadium was opened and he was in wests 1st grade to play against Norths at Parramatta stadium.

Diabolical was the word, but I do not know where to start. It would not have changed the result but it should have been closer. Sin binned a player for us for tackling a player getting up to run again. Calling their makers offside then when they make the tackle calls play on. Allowing head highs to go, above the horizontal and the touchie can see a forward pass 50 metres away but cannot see Chan Ly get a forearm to the head 15 metres away. And when our captain approached him to lodge an official protest he was sent away saying it was too late.

Ourimbah played better than us but it would be nice to get a fair go. In the refs defence he is a local and under pressure as he is young and the league would be better letting him run the line or control games in Sydney amongst Sydney based teams until he gets better.

These are just a few things I do not have enough time or space to keep going.
