There are 4 games on saturday and the match of the round between the Bulls and Erina on sunday.

The action starts at Henson at 2 pm as the locals take on Premiers, The Entrance. With Alf Duncan and Nelson Leon dropped from the Jets Premier League team and one of the Chan Ly's coming across from Windsor (is that Chanarath ot Chanarith?), Newtown are capable of scoring a few tries. The question is will they able to stop a Tigers team that is scoring nearly 60 points per game. Alex Moore, Shaun Lawrie, Jason Thorne and Adam McEwen are the danger men

Souths Juniors take on Cabramatta at Redfern at 2.30. There is quality in both sides but the loser will left on 2 points. Cabra have signed Trent Croft from Mounties and he will resume his position as the biggest fullback in the world. Jason Thompson and Alex Farani also get their first opportinities in 2004. Souths have plenty of speed in the backs with Patten, Nicholas and the Lai brothers and a useful backrow in Cooke, Rooke and Saab.

Ryde Eastwood will be far too strong for Woy Woy at Leichhardt at 3 pm. Forwards Awahou, Johnstone and Charlie Farah should provide the base for the halves Kusto and Daniel Brown. Woy Woy coach Shane Wilson has decided to call the shots on field in the number 6 this week.

Another quality clash should occur at Windsor at 6 pm when the locals take on Wentwothville. The Wolves flogged Wenty in a trial in February but this clash will be a test of coaching philosophy with Nathan Barnes opting for the expansive game while Ian McCann prefers to grind it out.

The match of the round sees the Bulls take on Erina at the Greyhound club at 3 pm on sunday. Big League indicates that prop Charlie Nohra has recovered from the fractured cheekbone suffered in the trial season and Willie Grech will amke his first appearance since captaining the Bulls in the 2002 Metro Cup grand final. Grech missed 2003 with a broken leg.

This game will indicate whether Erina are contenders or pretenders. They have two useful scalps in Cabra and Windsor and I expect that they will attempt to dominate the tiny Bulls pack with significant input from the front row of Marc Reed, Jamie Goddard and Shane Wooden. Halves Ward and Robinson and backrower Ford will capitalise on any momemtum.

The problem with that theory is that you also have to ensure that the Bull's backs dont get any space otherwise Erina will be history.

Souths Juniors suffered a third consecutive loss as Cabramatta powered to a 46-18 win at Redfern today. Souths got off to a great start when Nathan Ford intercepted to lead 6-0 after 3 minutes. Cabra regrouped and dominated the rest of the game.

The Blues built their game around the power of Brown, Ellis, Sedgewick and Payne and capitalised on some brilliant passes from Sage, a superb kicking game from Branighan and the pace of Best and Farani. Cabra demonstrated the depth of their squad as no less than 5 players were making seasonal debuts.

Chris Saab put in 100 percent for Souths but they never looked a chance except when Joe Williams produced some magic.

Cabramatta 46 (A Farani 2, S Best 2, D Djukich, J Doyle, T Croft, M McBain, R Russell tries L Branighan 5 goals) beat Souths Jnrs 18 (J Williams 2, N Ford tries, T Nicholas 3 tries)

The Bulls continued their undefeated run today with a 46-20 win over Erina. This game was the Bulls toughest to date with the Eagles contesting strongly to trail 12-6 with only 3 minutes to half time. Erina relaxed and the masters of broken play scored two length of the field tries to lead 24-6 at the break.

Coach Clarke remotivated his side and solid defence and resourceful ball playing allowed the Eagles to storm back into the game to trail 28-20 with 10 minutes to go. The bulls responded and posted another 3 converted tries stemming from movements started in their own quarter. Sam Rakabu scored 4 tries to take his tally to 11 and all of the backs played well. Goddard, Lyons, Robinson and Ward were best for Erina.

Bulls 46 (S Rakabu 4, M Corrie 2, C Salem, A Tippett tries, A Tippett 7 goals) beat Erina ( M Reed, S Lyons, A Jones, A Betts tries, B Rees 2 goals)

Jim Beam Cup Report
From www.telclub.com.au - The Footy Shop

All eyes in the Jim Beam Cup are looking forward to Round Ten, when The Entrance and
Sydney Bulls are set to clash. After five rounds, they remain unbeaten leaders and are
looking like the two leading contenders for this year’s title.

The Entrance maintained their perfect start t the year when they overcame a tenacious
Newtown side 44-16 at Henson Park last Saturday. The Jets stuck with the Tigers for
the first 40 minutes and went to the sheds only a converted try behind at 16-10 but The
Entrance lifted a gear in the second half and finished comfortable winners.

The Sydney Bulls flexed their muscles with a 46-20 win against high-flying Erina, that shows
how far the Eagles have to go before they can be considered genuine contenders. The Bulls,
spearheaded by three tries to Sam Rakabau and an 18 point haul by Adam Tippett, were too
strong for an enthusiastic Erina and jumped to a 22-6 lead at half time.

Windsor took off their Dr Jekyll mask and turned into Mr Hyde when they hosted
Wentworthville on Saturday night. The Wolves finished 38-32 winners in front of a bumper
crowd of over 2,000, with captain-coach Nathan Barnes a standout for the locals. There
was more than dash of controversy, however, when Qld referee Adam Neale awarded a
try to Windsor’s Terence Vaitusi when there were strong suspicions that he may not have
grounded the ball.

Cabramatta returned to the winners circle when they posted a 46-18 win over Souths
Juniors at Redfern Oval. After being cut to pieces by former Rabbitohs Damien Mostyn
and Nathan deBartolo against the Sydney Bulls, Souths coach Bill Grech had to watch
another former local junior in Luke Branighan turn it on for Cabra. The former Sharks
and Dragons pivot showed his undoubted class to orchestrate the Blues win, and he
played a leading hand in nearly every one of their nine tries.

Ryde-Eastwood jumped into the top five when they accounted for Woy Woy 40-16 at
Leichhardt Oval on Saturday. Shane Wilson’s Woy Woy side has come through a difficult
few weeks and had their resources fully tested but they can take heart from this effort.
Ryde-Eastwood have the ability to match just about any side and Woy Woy fully extended
them, raising hopes of better times ahead. Michael Takau and Daniel Brown each scored
a pair for Paul Fletcher’s side, who remain on course for the finals.
