The Sydney Bulls made it 7 in a row as they thrashed Windsor 68-24 at Penrith Stadium today.

The Bulls appeared to still be sleepy at the 11.10 starting time allowing Brett Finn to score for the Wolves after 3 minutes. Finn was signed by Souths from Brisbane Norths but has been loaned to the Wolves for whom he played his junior football.

The Bulls started to get their game in order and had opened up a 22-8 lead after 32 minutes. Impressive centre Jeremy Lawlor scored his second try for the Wolves just before half time but the Bulls responded by regathering a 10 metre kickoff allowing Salem to score before the hooter - Bulls lead 28-14.

There was absolute mayhem on resumption as the Bulls ran in 5 tries in the first 13 minutes of the second stanza to lead 52-14. Another 5 tries were shared in the balance of the game.

Damien Mostyn and Sam Rakabu were sensational today. Windsor's key player Craig Trindall's main job was to kick off 14 times.

Bulls 68 (A Tippett 2, M Corrie 2, C Salem 2, W Naiqama 2, D Mostyn 2, P Winterstein, S Rakabu, W Grech tries, A Tippett 8 goals) beat Windsor 24 (J Lawlor 3, B Finn, N Barnes tries, C Trindall 2 goals).

Hawkes and Balmain and Wests Tigers - it'd be nice if just one of my teams gave me something to be positive about

At least the Hawks fans were there (didn't see many Jets supporters there). The best thing about the Ryde fans are their red and white track suit jackets.

You guys at Newtown might think you have the market sewn up with the retro gear, but give me a red and white Ryde Eastwood adidas tracksuit with the little white hawk on it anyday. Original and genuine 1971.

Nfed,
You may find the reason why not many Jets fans were at the game is the Frank Hyde Cup, Jets v Bears Premier League clash, was being held at Henson Park at 3pm.
Obviously the Hawks didnt care about the crowd and potential gate taking that could have been made had the game been rescheduled.
Clubs must realise if they put a bit of effort in to promoting games there efforts will be warranted with decent crowds which will result in higher gate takings, canteen revenue and will make the club more marketable to sponsors.

Well said Mono. I would rather watch the Jets in PL any day over the JBC. As Mono states... If the Ryde club put their game on at 6ish then I'm sure a few Jets fans would have popped down to Leichhardt.

Whats upset you Nfed to be so narky, we are not claiming any such market in retro gear in fact our range is becoming quite large and diverse much of it very current.

Sorry for being proactive and the fact is Ryde do not attract a large supporter base and have looked at moving stand alone games away from Leichhardt due to the cost. If the game had a different time there would have been more supporters.

We are good but not that good to be in different places at the same time.

If you like the Hawks gear I say good on you and I cant wait to see the Bulls 2002 retro gear should be great.

Sydney Bulls retro gear would imply they have some sort of history and tradition. If you're waiting to see that, I suggest you get saddle up next to Walt Disney in the cryogenic freezer.

I'm sure the Bulls would do a nice Retro jersey from '98 in a nice green polyester covered with sponsors.

I don't mind the Bulls, at least they are speading the RL word around the Bankstown area.

A move away from Leichardt for stand alone home games would be the smart option for the Hawks.
As it is they have already abandoned their local area to ensure closer ties with Balmain so they should be at least playing the stand alone games in the local area.
TG Milner is the logical choice for the move, being their old home ground and being within the local area, though I dont know if it would be the right choice.
The capacity is too big for purpose meaning the atmosphere would be dead and again the costs for hire may be too expensive for purpose.
With a bit of promotion they should be budgeting for crowds of 500, a little ambitous but it would be good for a change to see clubs using a little ambition in regards to crowds.
Anyone know of any other decent venues in the Ryde-Eastwood area?

I think that the Eastwood area is made up of *nion loving private school types, so I can't really see R-E doing well playing their games in that area.

Like Balmain, they should do some promotion. I think they'll be surprised how a few posters in shop windows will bring a few extra punters.
