Cabramatta breathed some life into a competition that had appeared to be a 2 horse race when they denied the Sydney Bulls an eighth consecutive win at Cabramatta tonight. Both sides were considerably short of full strength.

Cabra were first on the board when in the 10th minute Best marked a Jolly chip into the ingoal. The Bulls responded in the 20th minute when fullback Rakabu split the defence to score under the posts. The Bulls held a lead for merely 7 of the 80 minutes as the blues regained the ascendancy when Jolly grubbed and regathered.

The Bulls coughed up the ball in the red zone a minute before half time and allowed another converted try to trail 16-6 at the break.

Cabra scored on the end of the first set after resumption when a huge Jolly bomb swirled away from Burns resulting in another converted try. The hot and cold cabra side was definately hot tonight and scored another 2 tries in the following 10 minutes and the scoreboard revealed an embarrassing 32-6 scoreline.

With the Cabra fans giving the Bulls plenty one of the local's reserve graders cautioned that the Bulls could put a series of tries together in quick time. With 22 minutes left Corrie closed out a flashy backline movement. The Bulls had awoken from the slumber and repeated the dose another 4 times in the next 18 minutes. Had Adam Tippett's final conversion attempt not shaved the outside of the posts the Bulls would have pulled off a miracle win.

With the scores locked 32 all Cabra moved very slowly back to half way. The Bulls put together another good set and the kick on the last just eluded Navale's grasp with no one in front of him. Cabra regrouped worked the ball to the centre and Jolly attempted a field goal from just inside half way. The ball fell marginally short of the posts and with 47 seconds on the clock the Bulls burst up the field, had a field goal charged down, regathered and were attacking 10 metres out when the hooter signalled the end of the game. There was an eerie scene as players were strewn all over the field too exhausted to move.

Jolly's kicking and passing game suggested that when Tim Sheens went to Cabramatta searching for an emergency back up 5/8, he may have chosen the wrong one. Damien Mostyn, another 5/8 was best for the Bulls. If Cabra maintain the intensity displayed in the first hour they will win several games by 50.

Next week's game against Newtown has been switched from saturday night to 3.30 on sunday. It will follow the Parra Cup game between Cabra and Wenty.
