The Entrance failed to continue its sequence of 24 wins when the grand final replay at Ringrose today was won by Wenty 16-8. The Magpies looked superior for large parts of the game but the premiers never allowed them to ease up.
Brett Sargent had another strong game for the victors scoring 2 tries, setting up that scored by Ella and busting the first line of defence on several occasions. Adam Capovilla, Carr and Parke also made good ground while all the forwards were outstanding in the defensive task.
Benchman Eddie Rotidara was dangerous for the visitors and Laurie and Lui looked the most likely to trouble the Magpies.
There have been some significant ground improvements at Ringrose in the last 3 weeks with a digital clock installed on the scoreboard and a metal "pickett" fence surrounding the entire playing surface.
Before the game a presentation was made to Adam Capovilla on the achievement of having played the most games for the club, surpassing Mark O'Brien with a total of 266 games.
Wenty 18 (B Sargent 2, S Ella tries, C Parke 2 goals) beat The Entrance 8 (C Ashton 2 tries).
