I'd have this guy as our halfback right away.
This guy has a big future.
I've read previously that Witt is slow, well Tim Smith is slower.
Smith has great organisational skills but is very slow for a halfback.
I hope he develops some pace as he could be anything

Shane Richardson won't be letting Joe Williams go.

I'm surprised no one has posted a thread saying that we should buy Amos Roberts. Surely, having had a taste for the halves he's going to find it difficult to go back out onto the wing, when he's been so successful in there.

I think he'd complement John Morris at 5/8 very well in that he's got the long kicking game that Morris lacks and while Morris is more of a ballplayer, Roberts would be your running half...

Aparently Joe has no sign on fee, no base salary, just match payments....why would he have gone to souths on such a lousy deal? Did no one offer him more than that?

I'd say go for Joe Williams for sure. When he was at the Roosters the fans were positive he was going to be there star halfback (before they signed finch)

I saw Joe Williams running around for The Roosters back in 2002 in Flegg and already knew then he was something special.

I wish Parramatta did sign him this year...What a player.

he most porbably looks good at Souths, but he would be excellant at Parra considering our stance on halves.

Agree re Roberts. We need to beef up our backs. Amos has excelled everywhere bar centre. Could be the nippy half we need!

If doesn't matter if Amos can't pass or organise if the other half can...

The best half combinations have one running player and one organising half.

good point but last night penrith had no one organising in the halves....

and we need an organiser not another winger..

I totally agree - still say we had to get Orford to be a premiership contended next year. But now that he's gone, I can't see anyone on the market better than the players we've got. So, it's probably a matter of working around the likes of Morris, Smith, Dykes, Witt.
