Needs to go back to the backrow.

Last nights game showed it pretty clearly. Can't pass and doesn't know how to defend out wide. Cost us a try by carrying the ball to the death.

But he didnt pass last year either. When Mogg went to centre after Thompson was injured Vidot scored a heap of tries.

Id have Joel in the centres especially since monas is gone but he really needs to develop a pass to become a class centre.

I dont know what it is , does he think he can beat his man everytime?
It cost us a try at a crucial time last night , its not the reason why we lost but it didnt help.

Ideally he would but we don't have anyone knocking on the door for his spot whereas we have a ton of backrowers.

Thompson is a big problem at centre . Last year we couldnt win a game when he played . When he got injured we could not stop winning . He cant pass. Needs
to go forwards . He is not the only problem We only ran from dummy half once in entire game v Tigers . It beggars belief

Joel was the most damaging centre in the game for the first half of last year. Hasn't shown that yet this season but hasn't been given much opportunity. He'll get back to where he was I am sure.

I still believe Thompson's best position is in the backrow and the sooner he can make the move there the sooner he'll be playing rep. footy. At this stage his defence at centre is holding him back, otherwise he's made a good fist of it.

I don't think many of us Canberra fans are concerned with as much of his performances, as the same could be said for nearly every other player. All bar a few are in sh*t form, and Joel Thompson is also in that boat.

The thing more Canberra fans are concerned is, is with his decisions when we are in attack. He is a good individual player and is devastating on the right edge, when in form, but he does sometimes stunt our attack. He tends to hog the ball and attempt to go on his own, when the pass to Ferguson is a much better option.

I just hope Furner is reminding him of this, as sometimes it is costing us.

I do agree, as well, that in the long run, he is better off in the back row, but for now we have no suitable replacements for him in the backline. Reece Robinson, Drury Low, David Milne, James Stuart etc. I don't think would be beneficial for the team.

Ferguson to the bench?!?!?! Do you have some sort of head injury? Why would we have the NRL's current leading try scorer and the only player performing consistantly well for us out there on the bench!?!?!

We are sorta weak on centres ATM so I don't know who to bring in for him but agree he is currently a weak link out there...

it's funny all the criticism thompson gets after an average game yet croker has a shocker and its not even mentioned. How many times has the guy been pushed over the the sideline or very close to directly from a scrum win? Far too many.

thompson can make breaks very few players can. Plus he's far better then the garbage waiting at sl.

not gonna disagree that Thompson has poor reads in defence it is really bad at times but that whole right hand side defence didnt work as a unit and just watched everything that floated by
