Seems he wasn't involved directly with the attack on the man who has now passed away. Obviously working as a bouncer is not a job John should be doing. Fair enough he played for Manly, but he played for the Tigers too. Is it their responsibility to also find him "suitable" work?
An idiot is an idiot. He makes his own choices in life which have nothing to do with the Manly rugby league organisation or its supporters.
I feel for his son and the rest of his family but John Hopoate's problems are his own. I'm sure if William needs help or councelling over any of this (or other matters) then Manly will provide it to him.

Exactly mate. The Eagles have a long list of magic footballers and quality individuals but he was a disgrace to the club and his family. His son appears to have inherited that dodgy DNA. Since the footage I seen was on nine, you don't have the voice of the nine reporter (Good looking one wearing the pink blouse on the right) however if you listen and watch closely at the 0:42 second mark you can see his son? in the backround - blue shirt move from left to right in the back round and then the reporter turn around and say 'Why are you trying to trip me?'

Nice footage of John @ 1:11 shouldering the same reporter. :crazy:

Correction. It was reported that he hasn't got a security licence therefore should not have been trying to perform the duties of a security officer, which if correct puts him in deeper sh*te. Apparently he was working as an RSA (responsible service of alcohol) attendant whose role it is to ensure intoxicated patrons are not served more alcohol and under-age persons are refused service. An RSA remains inside his/her designated bar area and does NOT involve themselves in doorman issues & definetely does NOT chase after patrons.
Hopoate has been given chance after chance, he will never learn or better still, he doesn't want to rehabilitate himself. He is an A grade dropkick. I feel sorry for his wife and younger kids who have him as a father figure
