Jons patch v 4 vs v5

hey Jon i got both the version 4 and version 5 of ur patch how come version 4 is 2877 bytes whereas version 5 is only 482 bytes?

V4 - includes the 90's Team patch, which has all of the 90s teams and rosters done by Blase, and the Winfield Cup competition again by Blase.

V5 - 40-50 Rookies were included, meaning that the 90's Team Patch had to go to make room for the rookies, as the custom player file was full.

I'd reccommend V5, because it has new bug fixes and tweaks (also new Salford jerseys), but if the 90's teams mean alot to you, you might want to keep V4. It's a trade off, rookies or 90's teams.

But to answer your question V4 is alot bigger because it contains 14 new logos and jerseys for the 90's teams, which makes it a sizey download.

why dont you fill the player.db up instead of the custom one?

One of the reasons was the ability for the user to customise. Since the custom player file was full, anyone without your player editor couldn't add themselves, or a rookie into the game.

As it is now, there are plenty of free spots for people to add new rookies, if I have left out a player they want to use. And they also have the ability to change rookie stats, incase they disagree with the stats I did for them, since people will see the rookies as having better or worse stats for different players.

The other reason was I didn't see the 90's Teams as being that important.. I didnt get much feedback from people that were glad that it was in the patch. If you want the 90's teams all you have to do swap data folders or use V4.

*Ive updated the Version 4 of the patch, to include all of the bug fixes and latest stat tweaks available in V5, so it's exactly the same as V5 minus the rookies, with 90's teams instead.

hmm they should be able to edit the player in the game. all the players in IE are editible unless we chose to hide them.

if it was causing the game to crash then there was a bug in your db files. so i can understand why you would use the custom ones.

I am only able to edit custom players ingame.. :? Is something wrong with my settings or something?

edit- Even with IE1.02 I can still only see custom players in game customization.

ah you are indeed right! it's the teams that you can choice to customise or not, not the players.
