"He is not a terrible trainer"
terrible usually means bad.
He literally said it.

RazorRamOn is putting 2 and 2 together and getting 17

what does it mean then? what does an extra 5% mean?

lockyer knows the context is accusing milford of cutting corners and not being in the best shape he can be. does "not terrible" dispell this? hardly champ

everyone can see milford's physique could be improved...

He is telling Milford he has to work harder, its supports Kent more than Wayne. "not a terrible trainer' is a far cry from calling him a good trainer. Its the type of thing you say when you are trying to criticise someone without offending them..."it wasn't terrible but.....' etc That seems fairly obvious to me.

Kent said Milford was cutting corners.
Lockyer is saying he could be doing extras if he wants to take his game to another level.

Difference seems pretty clear.

Meanwhile Bennett says he's happy with how Milford trains.
Oh but Bennett's "lost his aura".. lol

Training five percent less then your max would be cutting corners. Again it seems fairly obvious he is telling him he needs to work harder to me. Look at some of the quotes from Locky:

"The NRL is too advanced, too ruthless, too professional for poor trainers to flourish in the heat of battle."

"Twenty or 30 years ago, it was possible to operate at 90 per cent of your ability and play representative football. Not anymore."

He is trying very hard not to be seen as bagging milford no doubt, but he is basically saying the guy is coasting.

Kent - Milford doesn't do what's asked of him, Benji is horrified he gets away with it.

Lockyer - Milford does what's asked of him, but if he wants to excel he needs to follow the example of Slater, Cronk, Smith & De Vere.

This whole situation is nothing but a desperate ratings ploy by Fox.

Every club would have a player that may not be the best trainer but can bring it on game day. It's a non-story.

Most would have 2 or 3.

Why are they picking just one individual in this instance?

Where does he say milford does what is asked of him? When he said he "is not a terrible trainer?"

Agree its a non story, Kent has pulled this out of his ass and a week later its still being discussed, he would be loving it. Like I said the other day he is a scumbag but he is hardly stupid. He knew what he was doing when he went after Milf and dropped Benjis name, it was as you say a ratings ploy.

And then draws parallels to those players I mentioned, making the inference that he should be doing extras like them if he wants to be rated alongside them.

So...basically a common sense story. Much like his commentary, Lockyer rarely uses his column to say anything insightful.

"Anthony Milford is not a bad trainer"

you avoided the question earlier,...define that.

bad trainer can = not rocking up to training at all, turning up late, turning up after a night out....etc.

improve 5% (again which you continue to ignore hence no balance in your arguement) could = cutting corners and being not in complete shape.

what's conclusive is that lockyer was compelled to write an article a day later that COULD have done ALOT more to support milford....BUT HE DIDNT

and it all happened because of bennett's reaction.
