The fun continues. Next target is a 33.333(repeater)% winning record. I think the lesson for JR from yesterday is to strike while the iron's hot, coz he could do it in a single game! And to not play on Sundays (tick for next week).

I said at the time that we signed him that he isn't the answer. I stand by that.

How do you know but? He could turn out to be a great coach. There are some good signs. The biggest is giving juniors a crack. I don't think any of them are completely ready bar probably Ionghi but Tuivati,Kautoga and R.Smith all could of done time in NSW cup. I like what he's doing. Guymers also only had 2 games prior to this year. Samrani was another young guy thrown in.

Whilst some didn't like RCG and Guth going I think it was the right call. We landed D.Walker with some of the money and would have probably 800k min left over.

He also has dropped guys who played poorly to cup. Hooked guys mid game who where playing average - Kelma,Joe O and Hands would know.

His next big test is going to be who he chases to recruit and who he promotes inside the club and of course results.

I think he has done great so far..

Yes he could have kept Gutho and Reg and hoped to scrap into the 8 next year and then extend Gutho and continue on the same path with aging players Signed Brown on overs for the next 10 years...

But he made tough calls is developing the club's players how he wants them.

Last weekend was a real positive but we are still sitting at the bottom of the ladder. I'm sure we'll improve a lot when we get Moses back.

Moses also hasn't played a game for us our backup half also was injured at the beginning of the season .

Even with them back we have a rookie fullback Hooker 2 new wingers. Out of form second rower who got dropped after game 1.

Did we really expect miracles this year?

Could be that JRs game plan is just starting to get through to the players.

It was always going to take a bit of time.

Once Moses went down we were up shit creek without a paddle.

Ideally if we had Moses we probably win the Dogs game and were 2/5 feeling a bit better.

Junior also had played no footy since the 4th July last year.

As fit as he is during pre-season you still gotta get match fit.

It's not an excuse but the heat in the first 2 weeks wouldn't have helped a bloke like him.

Iongi had played 1 FG so essentially a rookie he is going to have ups & downs throughout the year.

Billy Slater has big wraps on him and once he gets 50-100 games under his belt i wouldn't be surprised if he is a future Origin FB for QLD in 4-5 years time.

I doubt he'll supplant Walsh in that timeframe. He'll have to show a hell of a lot more to even come close.
