I'll be farked, he's guilty. Even after Hayne admitted peachey never called him a cheat. (Nice one Mark Geyer). Gotta admit the whole incident didn't look as bad as ben Kennedy the other week, but anyway life goes on, and we'll need our 3rd string fullback for Saturday. Who that will be is anyones guess. :?: :?: :?:

he did admit to directing abuse at the ref after getting binned, so it is justified, the 2 weeks is deserved.

This from the courier mail, i hope Anderson has a spare 10,000 in the bank.

SHARKS coach Chris Anderson accused the NRL judiciary of double standards after his captain David Peachey was suspended for dissent last night.

Anderson also called referees "prima donnas" after the judiciary hearing that prematurely ended Peachey's season.

Peachey was suspended for two matches after the panel found him guilty of disobeying directions from referee Shayne Hayne and touch-judge Michael Jones at Parramatta Stadium last Saturday night.

Although he admitted to saying "you're f...ing kidding, that's shit" to the referee after being sent to the sin bin, Peachey insisted he did not hear repeated requests from Haynes and Jones to return to the field.

When Peachey did not return, a clearly agitated Hayne decided to send him from the field for the remainder of the game which was eventually won 74-4 by Parramatta.

Hayne later dismissed forward Dale Newtown for a head-high tackle and sent prop Danny Nutley to the sin bin, leaving the Sharks with 10 men at one stage.

The fact that referees boss Robert Finch had sacked Hayne from first grade the day before last night's hearing as a result of his performance on Saturday night cut no ice with the panel of Ian Roberts, Mal Cochrane and Royce Ayliffe and the same applied to commissioner Jim Hall who prosecuted the case vigorously.

It was Hall and his match review panel who declined to take action against Brisbane and Warriors players after their wild brawl at Ericsson Stadium in Auckland on Sunday.

"If a brawl is not worse than what David Peachey did then I'm flabbergasted," Anderson said. "I just think it's very poor, we've got double standards here for sure. I don't think this decision has done the judiciary any favours.

"It shows them up poorly and for Jim Hall to be bringing this case here considering his decision on the Broncos-Warriors case.

"And to bring David Peachey's integrity into question is also very poor."

Because Peachey steadfastly maintained he did not hear either the referee or touch-judge order him to return to the field, the panel was directed by chairman Greg Woods to make a determination on whether the player should be believed.

While video footage of the incident showed Peachey was no more than a metre from touch-judge Jones, the panel did not believe Peachey.

During last night's hearing, Woods had to ask Anderson to stop interjecting when he asked Hayne if the penalty count, which was going heavily against the Sharks, was discussed in the referees' room at halftime.

"This case reinforces the fact that referees can get away with anything and that's not a good situation with semi-final football coming up," Anderson said after the hearing.

"We're just playing into referees' hands and they're just going to be even bigger prima donnas."

Sharks chief executive Steve Rogers later said it was unlikely the club would appeal against the decision, which blemished the otherwise clean record of Peachey's 10-year career.

There was some consolation for the Sharks who were successful in downgrading careless high-tackle charges laid against teenager Reece Williams and Newton.

Williams will escape punishment after his grade four charge was reduced to a grade two.

Newton was found guilty but his charge was downgraded from grade three to one, resulting in a two-match ban.

NZ Warriors hooker Tevita Latu was suspended for one week after being found guilty of a grade one dangerous throw on Brisbane's Petero Civoniceva.

I can't get my head around that at all, Williams tackle was a shocker.

Have to agree

I'm glad latu only got a week, there wasn't anything malicous in his tackle, and think he deserved to get off more than Williams did.

Its a sad day for sharks supporters i have to say! Anderson is a F***ing disgrace to his club!!!!!! They way in which he carries on and sooks about how things not going his way appauls me. If i was a sharks fan i'd be calling for his head too, the bloke just creates negaitve publicity for his club and it cant help the morale of the club either.

I have no idea how Anderson can carry on about how the judiciary didn't believe Peachey after NRL on Fox showed him looking at a touchie who was a meter away from him pointing to tell him to go back :?

Pretty conclusive evidence showing he knew he was wanted.

Yes, the "Us against Them" mentality never brings players together.

I guess after a 74 - 4 hiding, a season of excuses, poor form, a coach constantly whinging, fans bagging him one minute praising him the next, fans praising kimmorley one minute, bagging him the next then praising him again, you gotta try something right :-k
