I posted a few days back that it is the gradings assessed for incidents is where the possibility for bias and manipulation comes into play If a review was ever inclined to do so?

Tariq tackled a Sharkies winger a few weeks back. The winger was trying to return with a strong and lowered body carry. Macca tackled around the legs while Tariq closed the gap between he and Macca and stood bracing for the collision with the winger. No swinging arm, shoulder charge etc; trying to wrap up the winger and prevent an offload. Tariq’s right arm contacted the head of the low charging winger. If the winger was not seriously injured it would have been a simple penalty And a grade one fine. Unfortunately an injury occurred, it’s assessed as grade 3 and we lose a SOO back rower for the rest of season.

Point I’m making is that the grading is open to interpretation by the review committee. High grading and low grading seems to occur for similar tackles. Molo the same ‘grade 3’ he is gone. Could have been a grade one fine like others where the opposition player gets up.

Of course, some players are seemingly allowed to hit high or whatever and get a fine in the mail. Good grief.

Yes and the injury to herbert was not just his head. he also did a MCL or similar to the knee.
Molo was wrong footed and no doubt high..but was there really that much force for a 4 week suspension which may include 2 games next year if they dont let him count International reps at end of year which they should as he was to be selected. They made those exemptions for others this year like Latrell for missing All Stars
Latrell got how many weeks for his hard hit on Manu?

He was given 6 weeks but only served 5 because of -
South Sydney campaigning for the All Stars match to be included as part of his suspension, with the NRL agreeing to include the representative game as part of the ban as you say BLM01.

This campaigning stuff works a treat by the looks of things. Tamou given two weeks but is allowed to play his last game in round 25 for the Tigers.

The club should seek some leniency in the case of Frank Molo based on the Mitchell and Tamou cases. Will the club do any campaigning on his behalf? I doubt it. They don't like to go through all that trouble. Too much trouble upsets them and they get indigestion and they don't want to get any ulcers and any more grey hairs. Useless things they are!!

Do the trial games count as part of his suspension as Frank will use up a couple of weeks there and be up for Round 1.

I don't think they count. I think that Molo can actually play in the trials, as they don't count towards the suspension. I would be happy to be proven wrong in this assumption.
Trial don't count as suspension but with grade 3 charges he can't play trials world cup games should count so he should be right by preseason

Speaking of bunker, judiciary and MRC all these shoulder charges that have happened in the past 5 weeks have resulted in a penalty the fine only and most no sin bin or suspension.
Meanwhile Tariq braces his shoulder leaning into them but as the player is falling or leaning forward hits his head and whooska.., sin bin, send off and big suspensions

I saw a similar hit to the head (like Molo's last week) of a player wrong footed tonight that hit Moses (who acted by dropping like he was shot) but was OK and got up when penalty given.
Penalty and on report sufficient. The fact that it did not quite connect was lucky
Molo's tackle watch it again.
He hit Herbert more on the jaw which affected the player but the tackle action and force was similar. send off - 4 weeks.
Again apparent injury result and media focus / replays dictates punishment.. it shi&s me

Surely any competent organisation would have said to Asofa after the first 4 or 5 offenses (and I am being lenient here) to cut the rubbish out otherwise you will be suspended next time. How can anyone take the NRL seriously with the BS fines they gives to players from some teams and throw the book at others. Rava did some classic tackles and gets rubbed out while a thug like Asofa can drop elbows and crack players teeth and the MRC can't work out the point of contact or level of force. Yet supporters are meant to believe there is no bias.

But have you heard what annersley has said .... the match review committee CAN up a grading if they believe a player has sailed close to the wind ( my words ) Also munsters elbow doesnt land on walkers head only his body thats why he only got a letter ..... As kent said on 360 Asofa should have been dealt with earlier . Also hilighted the hip drop by collins kaufusi .. kaufusi only landed on 1 leg so was nt as bad BUT how come it didnt warrant anything ...

Dragons have now had three sin bins more than any team in the NRL with 12 (plus one send off). They've done this despite being the third fewest overall penalties conceded.

We're being targeted and having 12 sin bins after 24 games, of course we're not making the finals and no other team would have a chance to given the same treatment.

It's not a discipline issue either, we're almost the least penalised other than 2 teams.

Storm, Panthers and Roosters players just get penalities. We get 10 mins down a player.

Read it and weep.
Agree with Phil’s view , the entire judiciary is a joke. The only way that the Storm will be losing the services of Nelson is if a Hollywood producer goes down to Sin City and spots the big lug and offers him a lead role in a remake of Frankenstein ! 🙄

Of course if the referees had any self respect for their chosen field then they themselves could come down hard
on the guilty parties during the semis and send the thugs off the field . But unfortunately that is only wishful thinking on my part .

I can see a big name player suspended during the semis and missing the GF, like Cameron Smith all those years ago. Hopefully NAS or JWH.

Embarrassing for the NRL for sure. Bring it on!

Kenty speaks a lot of rubbish but this time he was spot on. Even Buzz was stating the obvious. But it will all be for nothing as the Storm will keep their stars on the field at all times. What an insult to know that MRC favors the top teams and stars of the game and not fair to all teams. That in itself is a sackable offence seeing how obvious it is and all in charge should be removed at the end of the season. They should have nobody in that role that was ever affiliated with a club or has any ties at all in rugby league. Someone completely neutral.

If all teams had the luxury Storm does when it comes to refs, bunkers etc they would be top 4 every year as well. Seriously they should be playing with men down or copping sin bins every game yet get away with stuff which is so blatant. How can 1 hip drop get 4 weeks and another a warning letter? Kafausi and Asofa repeat offenders yet you would not know as they hardly miss a game. Suallii coped so many cheap shots which were obvious the kid was targeted. Storm cannot simply win when it is a level playing field they need to take someone or somehow get some advantage over the opposition some how no matter how grubby it is knowing they will get away with it.

Yes the NRL has become so corrupt, favouring the top teams. Under the instructions of cheating bastards News LIMITED.
They are ruining our game.

Unbelievable
Dannyt, I have said it before and I will say it again. News limited shows to all what it really is, Melbourne get away with what ever they like because there is no repercussions what so ever, their flagship team would be decimated. The Rooster have Uncle Nick a very powerful individual.
And what do we have, nothing, we are not aligned with News, and are Board are weak as piss and so called billionaire owner WIN Corp does what? Do you hear the media say to much not really they might make rumblings that’s it. Do you hear them say that the Dragons players are being treated unfairly, no they never do, that’s the problem. What ever it is we are not like or thought in the same air as the rest.

For all the success that the Storm have had, they will forever be despised by other supporters for their grubbiness.

Opposition players no longer get revenge on the field like the old days. While most of us probably hate the Dogs, the pack of forwards they had in the 80s or our champions of the 50s and 60s would have torn Asofa, Kafausi and Munster a new one if they tried their BS grubby tactics.

I actually felt sorry for the Roosters as JWH stood up for his teammates and got sin binned and Collins will miss 4 games, yet 2 elbows by Asofa and Munster and a hip drop by Kafausi and all they get is a measly fine and Munster a letter to take home to his parents that he is a naughty boy and if he does it again he will be in detention.
