The Junior Kangaroos train-on squad has been named.

The squad will play a New Zealand team in Melbourne on Saturday, October 21, prior to the Tri Nations Series match between Australia and New Zealand.

The squad is
Shannon McDonnell (Wests Tigers), Luke Douglas (Cronulla Sharks), Stuart Flanagan (Balmain/Ryde Eastwood Tigers), David Taylor (Toowoomba), Mickey Paea (Sydney Roosters), Cory Paterson (Newcastle Knights), Scott Bolton (NQ Cowboys), Joel Moon (Toowoomba), William Zillman (Canberra Raiders), Joe Picker (Canberra Raiders), Jacob Selmes (Cronulla Sharks), Todd Carney (Canberra Raiders), Jarrod Hayne (Parramatta), head coach Brian Johnson (AIS).

Yeah, its train on, so its only players who are no chance of playing in the first grade semis. Players like Inglis or Hunt could still come into it.

Jeez I wish this game was going to be televised. The side is going to be one of the strongest in years IMO.

These train ons are not worth the ink till the real squad is named.

Seriously look at the senior squad, Stapleton, Hayne, Merritt etc are no chance of being in the top 20 come tri nations.

I suppose it is some recognition and encouragement for the young guys tho.
