THE New Zealand Warriors have terminated the contracts of three junior players affiliated to the National Rugby League who were today convicted on serious assault charges.

The Auckland District Court convicted the trio, all aged under 18, following an attack on a 16-year-old girl in August last year.

The club said in a statement that it first learnt of the police investigation several months ago but could not take any action until the court handed down its decision.

"Efforts are now being made to again convey the club's concern and sympathy to the victim and her family," the Warriors said.

"The club is relieved that there is now closure for the young woman and her family."

Disgraceful isn't it? No place for it in any part of our community, and something as a fan of the Warriors that I'm ashamed of - senior, junior, management, doesn't matter who. There's no place for women bashing.

Shaun Metcalfe and co will not go down in history as true Warriors. True morons more likely. The former had enormous potential, but thats all history now, because the top two inches, and the heart are empty and quite frankly thats not how a true Warrior conducts himself.
