Just a reminder to those of us, old and new, to try and kleep things civil on the forum. A few things have sailed close to the wind in the last few days, my work included.

As Eels fans, weare going through a tough time. There is tension between those of us whose opinions differ. So be it. Lets allow ourselves the freedom to be passionate about our club, but remember that passion can run away with us at times.

A few comments have been flung that otherwise may come under closer scruitiny under normal times. Because these are abnormal times, a bit of lenience has been issued. However, it's time for us to maybe reign in some of the nastier barbs lest they get out of hand.

We are all eels fans, so ultimately we are family. Lets remember that.

For my part, I certainly mean no personal malice in what I may say, and apologise if in any way this has been taken as such by anybody.

Thanks everyone.

BTW, lets keep the humour going. It sure is helping.

And HJ, you know that if I ever met you, I'd give you a big kiss and a cuddle and even maybe share some boiled lollies with you ;-) :D

HJ is the biggest Parra fan I know.

He is at every bloody game he can get too, He cares for the team more then anyone here, And yes we should be going better then what we are but he wont give up on them even if they are going shit. I was sitting with him saturday night after watching us get humiliated and his head was down and he had a tear. He loves this team just as much as al of us and he will support them through good and bad.

From an EWO Member. Keep your chin up Jesus and ignore these f**kers.

It's not a race as to who is the biggest Parra fan, and he has certainly thrown enough crap around to suggest otherwise. However, Matt, your last sentence is what I'm on about. Why try and create divisions between who is a better fan than who? Is there a point?

There are those on this forum who have even resorted to death threats, because of such divisions. Lets not go there again, shall we?

we all have our own ways of supporting parra... some of us turn up to every game, some of us make a robe in the team colours, some of us only watch parra on tv and some of us even collect snippets of hair from hindy's yearly haircut

all are legitimate expressions of love that should never be questioned

You started it :p (and you did with your thread the other day, so be quiet!)

Thanks, ParraMatt, but you forgot to mention good looking, highly intelligent and irresistably charismatic too!

And also with some childish comment suggesting that a diehard Parra supporter perhaps change their name to "GoBulldogs" , If that isn't an inciteful comment or an instance of the pot calling the kettle black .....

I'll add to this. In-fighting is not what any of us need at the moment. The club is dealing with some heavy crap at the moment and I have my doubts on where things are moving.

I have gotten to "know" most of the posters on this board over the past few years and its not hard to see the passion for the mighty blue and golds in every one. This above all things should not be questioned IMO and I suggest that everyone cuts it out (me included if I have done so to anyone).

The effect the current situation is having on people is all going to be as different as everyone on the board.

I think this utter dribble of an effort from you shows everyone who knows us both just where your mind is at, it is vindictive and small minded comments like this that have turned many a good person away from bulletin boards, not because (as you say) we can't handle it, but because we can't believe the utter time wasting crap and fan dividing propaganda that is thrust forward repetitively over and over again. For an insignificant like you to have the audacity to suggest to a lifelong parra supporter like me to change my name to "GoBulldogs" is not only childish and in extremely poor taste, it does as i previously said, show exactly where your mind level is at.
Thankyou for your oh so valuable time and thankyou for your welcome, but as i've chosen for the past year with much more to do in my life, it will be on very rare occasions i bother to visit here, not because (as you like to think) you have scared me away.

Its this type of post that I'm referring to, and which caused that 'childish comment' of mine. As Halfy said, we are all eels fans in various ways, shapes and forms. We are here also, lets not forget, because such discussions on the oficial site descened into places where the plot was lost, and personal vendetta overcame topical comment. Lets not go there again. It only creates a libellous risk for the generous people who own and run this site.

If anyone really feels the need to vent spleen, there is a perfectly good PM system to use.

The club we ALL love is in a crisis. It will created heated debate on these boards. Lets welcome vigorous debate in a cibvil manner. OK?[/quote]
