Im quite pleased with this coup for us saints, hes not a bad player at all, although i thought he was going to the broncos.

Look forward to seeing him in the Red Vee.

I must admit to not sharing the optomism shown above.

Saints already have Willie Talau and Jamie Lyon in the centres. What can Vinnie Anderson bring to the squad that those two couldn't?

Seems like a total waste of money to me, unless Millward has Lyon down for a stand off role all season?

Or can Anderson play half back?

Either way its not the 'major announcement' I was looking forward to.

I hope you're pleasantly surprised Fairleigh Good!
Vinnie's defence and enthusiasm was above most of our players in 2004. I hope he departure hasn't left a big hole in our squad.

I think Vinnies role will be more of a forward one....like lock.

He'll make a good impact player!

No,I think the Saints done well.

Backrower.

The Warriors failed to see it, but he'd give them 30-40 tackles a game, and not weak ar$e pussy foot ones either. And then to top it off he'll get in and work it out of dummy half no questions asked.

Could be anything up there.

I think its a great move by us to be honest.

I have seen him play a fair few times and his defensive abilities are outstanding, his committment and drive is also there for everyone to see.

Some people, most noticeably the part time supporters at saints, are saying its a poor signing. However, i fail to see how a 25 year old new zealand international, playing week in week out in the nrl is a bad signing.

so to all you kiwis who no him best will he be a good adition to our squad?

Yes, he will be great addition, and he will be very loyal. He has
very high standards, and while may not be the flashiest player,
he will work his guts out for 80 minutes.

Cheers

Well if he can play back row he could be a great signing.

I always had him down as a centre cum utility back, not a forward. We have enough centres at Saints. I have only ever seen him play centre and at 6 for NZ in the internationals.

I never thought he was big enough to play in the forwards, but we'll have to see how he goes, the concencus of opinion on here is very positive. I'm looking forward to Friday night now.

Hes a great lock, as he is fast, has strength, can offload, step, and has an amzing work rate come defence time. Great addition. Well done Saints.

He's certainly big enough for the back row, he's around 100kg and extremely fit. Most of us Warriors fans on this forum rate him better as a back row workhorse than we do as a centre, where his lack of outright pace lets him down (although he has a good eye for hitting a gap at pace so he's still dangerous at short range)
