I honestly thought England A would give us a very close game long before the news broke of all the partying. The game was at night though, so unless the boys had been absolutely smashed the night before, I really doubt they could have been too below their best come kick off. That England A team was choc full of talent and many of them will be the back bone of the British Test team for the rest of this decade.

I can almost guarentee we'll put 40 or 50 past Wales tomorrow morning and suddenly everyone will be saying how much we've improved. But realistically England A would put 40 past Wales aswell. Good to see Allan Bateman in the team, even though he is approaching 40.

Anyway loved the Rod Marsh and Boon stories. Can't say I've got anywhere near those records.

Johns may be irreplaceable at scrum-half but in Brett Kimmorley, the chunky little schemer who starred in Australia's 2000 World Cup final win at Old Trafford, the tourists have the next best thing.
