I missed most of it but there was something about him being in trouble on the Gold Coast news. Something to do with a fight in shooters. Couldn't find anything on here and no out of control media frenzy over a league player in trouble. Still would be interested in some more info.

What would he be doing on the Gold Coast? I thought he would of been training with Melbourne in Melbourne. Unless they made a trip up the coast or something?

Anyway, I hope it's nothing serious because he is a fantastic talent and one of my favorite younger players.

I thought he signed with the Gold Coast too, not sure where I got that idea from. Side note, player I do rate well is Aiden Tolman from Melbourne, I wouldnt mind him at Parra once Cayless leaves.

Melbourne Storm sanction Kevin Proctor
Written by: Dave Donaghy
Jan 27, 2010 7:24pm

The Melbourne Storm board has tonight unanimously supported sanctions placed on Kevin Proctor by the club for engaging in anti-social behaviour last month.

Proctor has been fined $4,000 by the club and ordered to undergo alcohol counselling sessions for his part in a minor incident on the Gold Coast on December 27.

Proctor was this morning fined $400 in the Gold Coast Magistrates Court for behaving in a disorderly manner.

No conviction was recorded and Proctor was not required to attend the court hearing in person.

Acting Storm CEO Matt Hanson said the club had acted swiftly in sanctioning Proctor.

“The clear message is that when players are out in public they must act in a manner that is socially responsible,” Hanson said.

“That is a non-negotiable for players and staff when they become a part of this club.

“Kevin understands that and has accepted the sanctions imposed. We are confident that Kevin will learn from this mistake and not place himself at further risk in the future.”

Melbourne Storm will not be making further comment on the matter.

I thought the Ben Barba incident was funnier..

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/bad-boy-bulldog-makes-homeless-claim-20100126-mv2g.html

Bulldogs NRL player Ben Barba accused police of racism after being arrested for striking a passing car and abusing two women in Mackay's central business district on New Year’s Eve.
Barba, who is from a well-known rugby league family in Mackay, pleaded guilty in writing in the Mackay Magistrate’s Court yesterday to creating a public nuisance.
Barba was seen heading towards a bar in Victoria Street about 11.40pm when he stepped off the footpath and walked into the path of a vehicle that had to brake heavily to avoid hitting him. Barba struck the vehicle with his hand.
Police also watched him approach two women in the street and threaten them in a loud voice, the court was told.
The Bulldog's five-eighth was arrested and taken to a police station, telling officers he was only yelling at his girlfriend and accusing them of picking on him because of the colour of his skin. He also refused to give officers his address, telling them he was homeless.

That release by the Storm is one of the most pathetic things Ive seen from them. If it was not much why tell people he needs alchohol counselling, it gives a mental image of him staggering up the street.

If he does need alcohol counselling WHY WOULD YOU FKN TELL ANYBODY A PRIVATE MATTER.

IMO they threw a 21 year-old, who made his first mistake, under the bus

Was probably before Pre-season training started and it was such a minor incident that it hasn't come to light until now.

As for what he was doing there..... he grew up on the Goldie so was probably just out with mates or family members.

The Vaughan effect.... over paid, under performing, player right extension option nrl players... don't do dumb stuff that gives your club the ability to get rid of you.

My first thought was "why would he do this? So dumb". My second thought was "well maybe he got what he wanted".
