Why do have a salary cap when we have third party deals dragons are going to compete until we have a rich benefactor.

If Proctor couldn't get a gig at the Titans ( to be close to his and wife's family, he would never have left Melbourne. This had been in discussion since around May/June.
No conspiracy here.

I rate Frizell and Thompson over Proctor.

Proctor runs beautiful lines off Cooper Cronk but our sideways attacking structure would destroy his game.

Not too sure about that , our attacking structure destroying his game that is .
Proctor knows only one way to run , and that is straight and hard , he is an animal ,
all the Titans need to do is to tell him which direction that his team is running in ,
and let him loose .

Would had been a great signing for any club ,more so the Dragons , however the best of luck to the Titans , better them , than any of the Rorter clubs .

Is the F#@#@ NRL Looking after there own?
If it was Saints going after Him it would never happened
Saints actually offered Proctor a 2 year deal for 700k a season according to reports back in 2014 for the 15 and 16 seasons and Proctor rejected us...

Proctor and Thompson on the edge and friz in the middle ...piss off JDB altogether..
Win - win

What about Leiloua and Sims? Both are awesome in the back row.

Also, playing Thomo on the edge is like playing an x-centre who is built like a centre in the centre position. Why do we need three centres on the field.

If Thompson deserves a place in the team, I think there needs to be a change...

He was also offered a 4 year $750k deal with the Raiders back in 2014. Which is strange because he's now gone to the Titans on a 4 year $550k deal, however by reports he was desperate to move back to the Gold Coast due to family and was happy to take a reduced offer.

I actually don't see either of these players having a future long term in the back row.
Leilua is a front rower long term IMO, and Sims is now a bench player for impact or a middle player as well.
I think since his numerous ankle injuries he's lost that extra speed and acceleration which I would like to see an edge player possess ie Thompson,.

I like your reasoning I just think we give away a bit of size with Thomo in particular in the pack. I think better team selection from Mary is needed in 2017. I personally think we will have a good roster, now players have to be selected on merit and strategic requirement.

Also Leiloua has a great passing game, creativity and size. He'd be great in the middle or the edge. Sims looks all class too, so he could do either (like Friz really).

I remember when the Titans were tipped for the spoon. They even had to pay overs to get Chris McQueen in their side.
Now look at them, a premiership force picking up top line players at will, it's not often you can snare a player from a club like Melbourne.
That's what happens when you have a great coach and a Board that know how to dig a club out of the ground.

Agree 100%
A lot of people here thinking it's gonna take years and years for the dragons to recover from their current shambles, but really it's only 1 or 2 shrewd changes that will set the wheels in motion....and momentum will follow.
The difference in the dragons between 2008 and 2009 was incredible , and all in 1 off season.... And all because of 1 astute signing of Bennett...(even if he did kinda fall in our lap) but you get the picture...
