Kimmorley ruled out of Eels clash
August 12, 2004
CRONULLA captain Brett Kimmorley was today ruled out of this weekend's NRL clash with Parramatta at Toyota Park after MRI scans showed his troublesome hamstring injury had not fully mended.
Earlier this week coach Stuart Raper named Kimmorley in his side to take on the Eels, whose slim finals hopes will be extinguished with a loss on Saturday night.
But with a bye the following weekend, Raper is not prepared to gamble on Kimmorley's fitness as the Sharks fight to break into the top eight.
Going into round 23, Cronulla, Canberra, Newcastle and the eighth-placed Wests Tigers are all on 22 points although Wests are guaranteed two points because of their bye.
Jason Kent will again wear the No.7 jersey in the absence of Kimmorley, who hasn't played since round 13 after tearing his hamstring during a State of Origin camp.
