Anderson admitted afterwards the puzzle was "coming together" after heading into the match still trying to find his best combination, particularly in the halves and centres.
Penrith halfback Craig Gower started at the base of the scrum before shifting to five-eighth in the second half when Brett Kimmorley, who wore the No.7 in the Test loss to New Zealand, was introduced.
Craig Wing, who started at pivot, moved to hooker and the Kangaroos looked a better side, turning a 12-4 halftime lead into a convincing win with four second-half tries.
"He directed it a bit better," Anderson said of Kimmorley.
"He's a good talker and he controls the play pretty well.
"I thought Craig Gower did some good things at five-eighth.
"I am just weighing up some options there.
"It's just whether I stick with Craig Wing there (at hooker) or give Craig Gower a go and bring Craig Wing off the bench to give us some real impact."
