JASON KING OUT FOR REST OF SEASON
In a body blow for the Manly Sea Eagles the club's most outstanding young prop Jason King was today ruled out for the rest of the season with a stressed fracture of the foot.

King received the injury in his comeback match against the new Zealand
Warriors at Brookvale Oval on Sunday - his first game since undergoing a shoulder operation in the off season.

The powerhouse prop played well against the Warriors and his return was seen as a major boost for the side.

Coach Des Hasler said he was gutted for King.

"Jason has trained his heart out - he played strongly in his return match and was looking forward to a successful season.

"The side will feel his loss.He has size and speed and is one of the most talented young forwards in the premiership. We were counting on him being with us in our campaign but we have no choice now to go it without him.

"Once he has has his foot placed in a cast we want him around the side in some role - he is a popular member of the side,"Hasler said.

In other injury related news both Steve Menzies and Shane Dunley are racing the clock to be fit for Sunday's clash against the Bulldogs at Telstra Stadium.

Both players will be given until late in the week to prove their fitness.

Menzies (hamstring) and Dunley (rib cartilage) will be chosen in the 17 to meet the Dogs when the Manly side is named tomorrow.
