Knit Polyester

Polyester is a sythetic thread (as opposed to cotton) and it gives the clothing a stretch quality. It doesn't wrinkle as much and depending on how its processed, polyester can be weather resistent and even stain resistent (to a degree). There are a number types of polyester.

'Knit' suggests further stretch qualities. Although in this case it could just mean the jersey has been knitted using polyester.

Polyester is superior to cotton and is supposed to have a longer shelf life. The only complaint being that new polyester isn't as comfortable on the skin as new cotton.

btw, polyester is not only used in clothing. As a textile, it also gets a workout on other products. Its a form of chemical fibre afterall.

The embroidered logo just means as it says, a logo has been embroidered, or embellished, into the jersey.

Cheers Willow.

Yeah, I was more after what "knit polyester" was, as opposed to ordinary polyester.

I think it'd be reasonably difficult to get through life without knowing what polyester means.

Similarly, I know what embroided means, more interested if the "performace" means anything in particular.

I guess I should make myself more clear in future.

Thanks again.

Sorry for dumbing it down. I didnt want to assume anything. ;-)

I'd say 'performance' came out of the marketing room. lol

In the clothing business, anything to do with 'knit' and 'polyester' usually translates into 'stretch' and 'synthetic'.

Personally, I prefer cotton.

When I heard that Adidas were taking over I knew for sure that 2005 would be the last cotton jersey, so I made sure I got one.

And I'm sure you're right about Performance. But you never know.

Adidas are masters of the buzzword. You'll probably get countless more over the next few years.
