IM so scared of Lossing Liddle over Kyle Thanks to Dad , I was afraid when Shane took over as coach he will bring his beloved Son, This could derail our club if we loose Liddle.
Yes, I agree VodkaSaint. If Dad shows preference to his Son, that will be disastrous as far as I am concerned. Son is not a very good organiser and is too slow as a half and even as a hooker. His kicking game is also poor. Dad needs to think very long and hard about what he should do with Son.
Selecting Son as the preferred back up to Cook next year rather than keeping Liddle might result in a bad year for the Dragons and Dad needs all things going well next year if he warrants a renewal of his contract.

We have to be careful not to let our emotions get the better of us sometimes, but Kyle is desperately out of form. Sometimes we see red after a loss and want certain heads to roll. So considering we won, it is even more pertinent that Kyle stood out like a sore thumb AGAIN. Sure he tries but when he is in form he is just so-so anyway. No one likes kicking the boot into another person but if the coach doesn't drop him back to Cup to find some form than not only is he a hypocrite but we will continue to struggle in games.

Don't care if it is Ilias or someone else, there's go to be a better solution. We are still levels below where we need to be and must keep looking for solutions.

Been saying this for some weeks and echoing a lot of others...beginning to lose patience!

Kyle is an absolute rubbish halfback. He does a decent job playing second fiddle to Ilias or Hunt but when he’s given the responsibility he crumbles. That said, Ilias looks terrible in NSW cup. Could be mistaken for someone who has never played a first grade game even in that division. As shit as it is, until Ilias finds form there Kyle is our best option unfortunately. The real travesty would be Kyle over LKT when Atkinson gets here, but then again do LKT or Atkinson possess a long kicking game?

I've been a staunch supporter of both Kyle and Sloan but Kyle, although willing, has been disappointing especially regarding game management. If only he could remove the demons that have taken over since his successful stint of 2020 at the Roosters.

I sort of feel that Illias has the higher ceiling when it comes to potential and would be the better choice for a start with Atkinson.

I believe LKT will still be very much in the Dragons plans

Coach Flanno will either live or die on the decisions involving his son!
To me the biggest travesty would be Kyle over Liddle - That would totally suck!
even worse would be Dean Young as coach!
Remove nepotism and replace with nepotism - Farkkkkkkk!

P.S, Why can't Val kick from inside our own half?

P.P.S. I'm still in Sloan's corner

Agree on all points! From memory Gutherson has an enormous belly of the ball floating bomb. But the way the game has evolved you will rarely see a fullback kick. They’re always the 5th tackle hit up before the kick

True -but doesn't mean we have to comply with the NRL norm, committing our fullback to the 4th tackle hit up, when our halves have no decent meters in their 5th tackle kicks
Does it?
We could still commit Gutho to the 4th hit up and Val to kick or vice versa

Desperately out of form is a complete overstatement.

He is exhibiting exactly the same form he had before he got here.

If one is honest he is actually very consistent just like cake.

Bog ordinary and will never be anything else but bog ordinary.

LKT and Atkinson will be the halves next year. There is a real risk Liddle goes elsewhere, if he wants play 9 with KF picking up the 14 position.
The alternative is possibly bulking up KF by 5 kgs into the 13 ball playing Lock as he is a good defender.
Liddle is way more dangerous in attack than Kyle.
The better alternative would be for Kyle to go back to the reserve grade bench where we got him from.
The best alternative would be for him to go there for another club.

I see Kyle has his own thread over in this forum, have you bookmarked it to favourites on all devices?
Saw it when passing through and couldn't help myself. Interesting that there's noone desperately finding obscure ways to defend or excuse him here!

Going to check the dogs forum to see if they miss him!

Well against the Broncos Kyle had a decent game. Don't expect him to play like players in million dollar club like Cleary, Reynolds, Cherry Evans, Luai etal and he does not get that kind of salary. He is a half on 500k -600k and I think for a money that he gets he is doing a decent job for us. Same goes for Ilias. In time LKT may develop into a marqee half but that will take few years down the track.

For whatever reason our club management and board does not want to hire a marquee half. Maybe this is because of issues they had with Ben Hunt who kept getting 900k a season but never delivered.

Furthermore, I do not think Atkinson is in marquee category yet.

I'm ok with the club re-signing Kyle.

Illias and Kyle have a chance to show what they have got this year. Recruitment should already be scouting.

my hope/guess is that Kyle starts at 9 and does what cook did against the broncos. Takes the heat out and acts as a 13 or mobile forward when Liddle comes on. If that’s in 2026 or 2027 I am not sure, depends on cook. Kyle is a hard worker and a descent backup in 9 and halves.

however, I’d be really disappointed if we loose Liddle for Kyle to go to 9. Performer since he came

When evaluating K F think about this

Which coach would eagerly swap their starting 7 or 6 to get K F

Which other 7 or 6 wouldn’t you take to replace K F?

When you work out that then you know what his worth is to a side that wants to compete for a premiership.

His future has been carved out and secured at our club at our clubs expense as simple as that.
