I reckon he deserves his own thread.
Only 12 games in NRL so far.
I rate him as one of our best buys along with Hastings.
What do you guys think?

Remember when ponga got his own thread of everyone raving about and over time slowly turned into a thread about us venting our frustrations

He is amazing. Does some bizarre things but works his butt off all game. He is exactly the type of fullback I wanted on our team. How good are his Rugby Union short dropouts? Superb. We got him on near minimum contract as well right? Amazing!

He brings so much variety to our attack. I get the feeling we’ll see a number of long range tries this year from when he crabs across field on the kick returns and looks to link up with the wingers.

The defensive lapse on Manly’s first try I’ll put down to not knowing where on the field he was- it was more comical than anything else and I don’t get the feeling he’s scared of the contact or defending. Manly we’re scoring that try no matter what miller did in defence.

Also loving his confidence- something goes wrong, but he’ll try something else the next set and doesn’t get his head down.

He was actually having a bit of a shocker early on but kept giving 100%, was constantly involved, always pushing up in support, and got better as the game went on in a lot of ways. That’s honestly an even better sign than him carving up last week.

I would guess it’s a bit more than that, somewhere between $3-400K a year being that he was signed specifically to play fullback and it had to be a pretty good opportunity for him and his family to make his release a bit of a moral obligation for the Sharks. A bit like CNK at Canberra. Still a huge bargain on current evidence though.

Energy/effort is unquestionable and he's very capable of creating for himself and others when attacking the edge. We've started actually offloading the ball a bit but mostly coming from the centres and edge players so far, reckon he can wreak havoc if we get those going through the middle of the field too, in particular think he should be following Croker on his runs.

Have to say I'm still pretty sceptical on other areas though. Some of the defensive reads and work under kicks would keep a gun fullback coming through the juniors from breaking into top grade, let alone a 28-year old. Can only imagine the reaction if Ponga had pulled some of the things Miller has so far at the back. Would love to cut out most/all of the one out hit-ups as well.

Three try assist, 500 plus metres and 20 plus tackle beaks the past two weeks.

A deadset rookie in the grade too.

f**king gun and exactly what we’ve been crying out for.

HE RETURNS THE FOOTY!!!!!

A few hard markers here.

If he was on 1. 2 million we could possibly expect a little more???

Expect errors because he’ll make them.

Yep, pretty much this. I would have marked him very highly on the game on the weekend without all the ridiculous errors that absolutely cost us pressure and often points. And I dunno why we're pretending that was a one-off, it's pretty much been the story all year so far. He had a shocking first half the week before only to salvage it with a great second half. He's rocks and diamonds and has a lot to learn in a short amount of time - but the positives are nice.

The important thing is he's given us another actually viable option in the spine. That's worth a lot to us.

He will be fine.

Still tackles like a union player, that can be fixed.

Well when you have won 4 premierships...

Still learning.

Not a cat just needs to know where to be.

Not your issue, actually might end up a 6, but fullback first.

Our former fullback couldn’t tackle. Yet had excuses made for him. Miller is on f**k all coin and has played f**k all NRL so no one expects any better. Well, no one with a memory that goes back more than 5 games. Par for the course on this one.

Our former fullback didn’t return the ball. Miller has alread clocked up 1100 m plus in 5 games. He is taking enormous pressure of our big men. We’ve desperately needed that for years.

Our former fullback use to chime in and do a bit of ball playing/running in good ball position. Miller already has 2 tries and 3 try assists. He’s killing it.

His error count is low. Not bad for a rookie.

And now for the best point - he’s on f**k all money!!!! That is absolute gold.

It’s just nice to see a bloke have a dig and have some skill too.

One of those players who's always looking to make an individual difference, combined with a fullback's high involvement = a very high potential player. Still learning the game and he will make errors but looks like a keeper to me.

He is stark contrast to what our fullback of the past 2 years offered.

He's had the odd error or tackle attempt here and there, but maybe some forget some of the tackle attempts and positioning constantly in the d-line our previous fullback did which gave opposition plenty of easy tries.

This is what I'm loving about Miller:

1. He wants it. He wants to be a difference maker and an asset to the team. He wants to run the ball, he wants to distribute the ball when appropriate.

2. He looks like he is going to create something with each run. Once the team gets comfortable with him I'm sure we'll see the linebreaks start to stack up.

3. He has no fear. He will always put his hand up for the tough runs.

I will go as far as saying that if he got injured *touch wood* that he would be very hard to replace right now.

We've needed for so long 3 backs that can return the ball and take pressure off the forwards from getting smashed when we start our sets. This is a big difference from last year.

So yeah, for mine it's all rosey right now and I have no issues with him. Yesterday was a bit weird but I'm going to say the ratio of good to bad will be in our favour by end of season.

Our back 3 of Young, Marzhew and Miller is giving Penrith's back three a run for their money. What else needs to be said? All 3 would be on close to minimum contract as well.

Miller's effort and enthusiasm seems infection and I'm loving it.
