Everything I can gather so far is it will be Hull FC.

If it means Ballin isn't shunted out of the side, make it effective immediately...

Manly playmaker Michael Monaghan today is expected to announce he is moving to Warrington next season after also seeking and being granted a release by the competition leaders.

Monaghan, who does not want to play hooker, has fielded offers from four NRL clubs, as well as Super League side Hull, but the Warrington deal is believed to be too good to knock back.

The Wolves, who are bankrolled by British rock promoter Simon Moran, are understood to have offered the 27-year-old former Canberra junior $450,000 a season to play behind a forward pack led by Adrian Morley.

Andrew Johns, who had a guest stint with Warrington at the end of the 2005 season and was strongly linked to a full-time move there next year if he had not retired, had been enlisted to help entice Monaghan to the club.

At the expense of who???

Exactly. Monas is 28.

BURNS, Groome and Ballin are our future halves 6,7 and 9 and unfortunately we need to free up some cap space to accomodate future talent. Monaghan is not likely to get a chance over Orford to play halfback and wants an opportunity elsewhere. Good luck to him I say.

I'll have fond memories of him. His assumption of the captaincy in 2004 was the turning point in this clubs fortunes, but now there's an opportunity for all parties: Club, Player and NRL squad to all benefit from his departure.

I fantasize about Jim Banaghan in pain though. He has made this whole business roughly one million more times acrimonious than it ever had to be.

Well Burns is being courted by the Titans atm, if Manly lose him, that means we have Lyon at 5/8 for 2008. Not something I would look forward to at all.

......You're talking about Mateo.

Wouldn't use those exact words to describe him myself....but I suppose you are from Queensland....perhaps you weren't to know.....
