LeagueHQ shut down

The sydney herald League site, leagueHQ seems to have been shut down and the league stories are now in the general sports section. The union section is still active. The herald really hates the fact that newscorp has league tied up. This is not good for the game.

It's actually a part of their restructure. They did the same thing with the cricket section (The Pavillion) a few weeks ago and will be moving the rugby and afl over the next few weeks.

Thank you for visiting leaguehq.com.au. As part of our comprehensive online sports coverage, we are incorporating the content from leaguehq.com.au with our major masthead, smh.com.au.
For the most up-to-date league news, comment and live reporting, stay with all the action on Australia's premier news site:
www.smh.com.au/sport/

....Forget the link, I'm just showing what I saw earlier tonight.
Yeah roopy, I pick up on that too earlier while I was looking for team updates.
Talk about short and sweet.
The link takes you straight to the 'general sports' section and it's crap.
Used to be a good site once.

It's not so surprizing when I think back on the Sydney Herald coverage. They took it hard when Newscorp took over League. Not because it was bad for League, but because it spelt the end of them getting an equal chance at League stories. Obviously all the big stories will be handed straight to the telecrap in the future. A lot of the stories in League HQ have come from the Newcastle Herald for some time. The Newcastle Herald still has better League coverage than the telecrap because that is all that sells in Newcastle.
