Learoyd-Lahrs re-signs with Raiders

Canberra forward Tom Learoyd-Lahrs has signed a new two-year NRL deal that will see him stay in the nation's capital until the end of 2011.
The re-signing caps off a huge week on and off the field for the inform second-rower.
He and partner Amber brought home their second child from hospital on Thursday, and Learoyd-Lahrs scored a try to help the Raiders to victory against South Sydney at ANZ Stadium on Monday.
"It's pretty exciting actually to be signing off on another couple of years here, especially when I think the team is on the verge of finding our feet really as a group," Learoyd-Lahrs told reporters in Canberra.
"Me and my partner feel very much at home in Canberra, we're settled here and that was the plan the whole time."
The second-rower, who last season was plagued by injuries and suspension, has played a starring role in the Raiders brighter moments this season.
Learoyd-Lahrs said he learnt from 2008s setbacks.
"I think it made me realise that you've got to work pretty hard on those sort of areas," he said.
"It's helped me to knuckle down a bit more and concentrate on making sure I've got my body right."
Learoyd-Lahrs shrugged off talk his recent performances could earn him a second or third-match State of Origin berth.
"There's a lot of good players in my position at the moment who have probably been playing well for an extended period of time, not just the last couple of weeks," he said.
"They've probably got the wood on me at the moment, that's fine, and I'll just keep doing my part for the team and maybe one day that will come."
Following the re-signing, Canberra chief executive Don Furner will turn his attention to upgrading and extending star five-eighth Terry Campese's contract, which expires at the end of 2010.
Furner said talks between the club and the 24-year-old pivot were progressing well but came to a halt when Campese was named in the Blues Origin I side and went into camp.
Furner admitted Campese's manager had put his client's price up a few times, but said it came as no surprise.
"We sort of expected Campo to get picked (in Origin) anyway, so it's fair to say his upgrade and extension was taking that into account," Furner said.
The club would begin negotiations with Phil Graham, Scott Logan and Nigel Plum - whose contracts all expire next year - once the deal was done with Campese, he said.
Furner also revealed the Raiders were looking at recruiting some new talent.
"We have got our eye on two or three other players from other clubs so we'll start to ramp that up in the next couple of weeks," he said.
Well, it looks like we've missed out but with Poore pretty much all but re-signed means that's ok.
