The latest RLI podcast has the Lebanon federation saying all players are welcome, competitions in Lebanon will continue at school, club and college levels this year and next. The Lycans club who seemed to be the source of the domestic dramas is back on board.
RLI has so far taken no sanctions against Lebanon regarding the boycott and nor does it seem like they are going to.
So where are they at?
With Farah retired, will some other players come back into the fold or stick to their seemingly futile boycott?
Lebanon don't seem to be struggling to put a team on the park with heritage players and local players available, and have 2 years to prepare their squad for 2021.
Even if they get beat at the WC and fail to back up their automatic qualification, they are well positioned to qualify again by being the strongest in MEA.
