With the NRL playing dirty by suspending all these non Kangaroo players, can someone in the know tell the forum is this actually legal re the rules of the game..

Is there anywhere in the IRL constitution that allows players in a Club match serve their suspension on National duty? Where does the NRL get off on this..

Does this sort of behaviour become problematic in regards to Global sports organisations and their reluctance to take rugby league seriously..

Is the NRL trying to kill off the sport so it become like a AFL or Gridiron sole country sport? Sure seems like it…

I've always been an advocate for suspensions in rep games to be served at rep level only and domestic games vice versa. Its not fair on clubs if their expensive player gets sat down for a long time on rep duty, and its not fair on the international fans for stars to be sat out of rep games for something they did in a different comp all together. Would also do away with the "kangaroo" court we have now for players repping other countries!

I watch a fair bit of Football especially the Premier League and La Liga and I'm pretty sure their suspensions do not carry over into Internationals and vice versa.
Also suspensions do not carry over into the different competitions they play in during the year. So suspensions from the normal Premier League do not carry over into the Champions League or to the FA Cup.

It is pretty disappointing to see the potential impact in terms of some of the island players. Absolutely the suspensions should be served in the NRL. These national teams hardly ever play and it is pretty unfair for them to be robbed of their best players.

Hopefully its not too late for it to be clarified. The IRL should be making the clarification, definitely not the NRL. It is nothing to do with the NRL.

It opens up some nasty grey areas. If say Yeo was suspended for 6 games this weekend obvious Australia wouldn’t select him and he serves his time next year, essentially making it a 12 game suspension.

We also see situations like John Bateman being selected for England Knights after a suspension to use up a game even though Knights would never have selected a certain England starter like him otherwise.

All levels of the sport respect sanctions legally imposed.

Can you provide some examples?

It just stinks of NRL/ARLC running the game worldwide when we are supposed to have a independent IRL?

Like if a English ESL player was banned for 3 weeks 1 week before the ESL GF do THEY include Test matches?

What does the IRL constitution say? Surely there’s a expert in here who can elaborate..??
